Door lock actuator???

Anybody else have to replace a door lock actuator? My drivers side door tries to lock by keyless and by door button but no dice.

 

I have to push the lock manually to lock it and use my key to unlock.

 

What's the deal with these things? Seems like they are prone to fail given my limited research? Recalls even on earlier models.

I'm glad GM isn't the only car organization plagued with this problem. It's in every make and model nowadays. These actuators are really only made by a few companies. So, in short, every brand has nearly the same issues with these things. They are outsourced like almost every other part on the truck. You'd be surprised at how many countries are involved one door lock actuator. Good design, poor choice in material and workmanship.

Mass produced product like everything else.

I have keyless entry, would part 7036 work in place of 7154? On rockauto I was only able to find the right side.

 

Where did you guys get your actuators?

Used to be areas you could leave you car unlock without worries...not anymore

i am having this problem now with my truck...passenger side...problem is there is no external key hole to unlock the damn thing!!!!!!
