Wanna get a extended cab 2002 or 2003 chevy dually with the D-max in it. 4x4 of course. but first i wanna have a bad ass exhaust system for it. I want straight pipes. What if i put dual stacks up behind the cab????????? am i crazy or what. I might be hauling livestock or heavy loads with it. and i want people to hear me

They'd hear you alright! I think that would look BADASS!!! Just as long as you don't mind cutting two 6" holes in the front of the bed.... :smash:

That would be tough. I bet if you did it and got it on the market it would sell. :smash:

The last one I seen with that set up was the Dodge pickup.

I've seen at least two trucks around here (Athens, GA) with that setup and it looks badass indeed. One was with a mid 80s lifted GMC stepside, and the other was with an extended cab dodge, both were lifted and looked like they just came from a Road Warrior Movie! :smash:

A neighbour has an older Ford diesel with stacks. Looks stupid if you ask me. But again, it's all a matter of taste. It's not loud either, they have proper upright mufflers installed.

There's a Dodge dually around town with twin stacks. I'm really not crazy about the way it looks. It just looks out of place on a pickup if you ask me.

I remember the "lil Red Truck" that Dodge did in the ....70s?? I seem to recall it being quite a runner too. Had the stacks on a reg cab (stepside) gasser.

I think it would be cool on a truck...If I was any good at Photoshop, I would photochop it for yall. But I don't, so I can't.

That would look and sound great. I'm not usually the one for being sensible, but there are a few things to keep in mind. If you plan on putting things in the back of the truck, if they get next to that stack they're definetly going to melt. If you have anybody ride back there they'll have to be pretty careful not to brand themselves, but a shield may help that. Plus if you plan on running dual exhaust off the motor, you'll need to go to dual turbos. But, I've seen some dodges that've done it.

It sure would look cool.

One of the reasons I bought my DuraMax (over the PSD and Cummins alternatives) was that the sound of the d**n thing was quiet enough that I could hear the radio and talk to my passengers. Now why farkle that up with loud stacks? What am I missing here?

Well I would want the stacks to be in the bed. right behind the extended cab. I thought since there is only one pipe comin off the turbo i could make a y-pipe and thats how id make my duals. be a big y pipe though. wow with 4 inch pipe. haha. And BlackSilver you seem like one of the people who like everything quiet. Sounds like my dad. he doesnt like to ride with me in my z71 cause my exhaust is so loud but oh well. There isnt anything wrong with likin it quiet. if that what u like go for it. Just people like me like things loud and i guess we wanna get noticed. Now if i had stacks like that i would be know all over that state prolly. lol. :smash::D
