Hate my power windows

I wish all the windows where auto up & down. My audi convertible has one button that is auto up & down for all 4 windows.

Don't know if it will work on all vehicles but most if you stop the window during an auto-up cycle, the window will roll back down and from then on, the auto up won't work until you reset it by rolling the window up and holding the switch fully up for like three seconds. Stopping the window by hand can be a bit disconcerting but it should do it.

nope dosent work

Took me two years to find this feature, because I have the same issue with mine, trying to crack my window for some air under the ventvisor... if you tap the same direction on the knob, the window will stop where it is. For example if I want to crack the window, I tap the down direction for the window then tap the down direction again, stops the automatic roll. I was constantly hitting the down button the trying to hit the up button to get it to stop.

im all ears

Years ago I saw a link to the actual procedure from GM. I don't have a paper copy so I'm going from memory but it goes something like this:

1) Roll the window partway down.

2) Roll the window all the way up. As you reach the top hold the up button for 5-7 seconds.

3) Roll the window all the way down. As you reach the bottom hold the down button for 5-7 seconds.

4) Roll the window all the way up. As you reach the top hold the up button for 10-15 seconds.

5) Let the truck sit in the sun for 24-48 hours with the windows closed (this lets the visors get soft and mold to the space between the channel and the window).

I did this to mine and have not had any auto-reverse issues.

Also if you just lightly push the button the window will bypass the "auto" mode. If you push the button hard and let go it goes into auto mode.

It's not that the gutters tuck in the weather strip and cause auto reverse, it's wanting 1/2" down without typing morse code on the buttons.

Just came across this video on the tube... not sure which models this is available on but thought it could be useful to some.

EDIT: Just went and checked my truck, and it works. After I went into the settings and enabled the auto window feature. Now if only they could all go up remotely...

It took me a while to figure it out, but that's what I do. For the first few days I kept trying to chase the window auto up and down. Back and forth. Too far under, too far over. Too far . . .

Kinda like my golf game :ughdance:

Like I said directly above -- just push the button lightly (about 1/2 way) when you press it. As soon as you let off the button the window will stop ...
