Yes a 2017 denali without a scratch and 2k miles no doubt has lead a tough life, especially considering all those 10 people who drove it for sure have the mentality of a 20 year old.

Oh really, there's no variation in manufacturing that would cause some to vibrate and others to not. Got it. Maybe you can also tell me why 10% of porsche flat 6 engines that weren't meztgers produce from 1999 to 2008 will for no apparent reason have their IMS bearing fail causing full engine replacement. Or why 15% of mercedes 6.3 amg motors produced from '06 - '10 will grenade because of stretching head bolts. Or why some ls7's drop valves. Why did justin from blackbear, who's driven more of these trucks than any of us, tell me "wow your afm activation is smooth"

 

Your stand on the matter is just complete BS and an insult to every person on the forum who's complained about the issue. You clearly see them as being either picky, having improperly used it, or having improperly maintained it. It is simply ludacris that you dismiss 1000's of posts of people complaining about a single problem, all because you haven't experienced it. The viewpoint is just incredibly self centered, immature, and arrogant.

 

You just think they are all idiots. I used to think exactly like you when I was 20, and maybe that's why I have such an issue with it. Then I hit the real world and realized everybody else is not so dumb and to exactly listen to their concerns.

Even at 20 I knew enough to realize that a design defect I reference like the unstable suspension system in a Chevy Corvair is not the same as a manufacturing defect like defective or poorly installed components like the honed Al block in a Chevy Vega.

 

I used to think that way when 20 also.............stopped thinking that way by 40 faced with two jobs a mortgage and putting 3 kids through college......by the time I retired at 60 after multiple homes, dozens of vehicles, having supervised hundreds of workers, the School of Hard Knocks had taught me only God, country and family (pets included) are all that really matter, only contempt remains for a malfunctioning a pile of machinery used to haul my a$$ from point A to B. That is why I've had a close knit family with same spouse for 45+ years BUT dumped new vehicles which pi$$ed me off in less than six months for less aggravation than I've tolerated from family. ..........by 80 I'll probably realize that I was correct all along at 20.

 

 

However, to conclude this waste of time line of discussion there is one point upon which we can agree....some claim their trucks, like mine, go Hummmmmmmm while some claim their trucks go Buzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

Mine shakes at 73+ mph. As do many others. I woul bet the majority of them do. Many folks dont notice, dont care or think its a trait of a pickup truck.

With what I've experienced I think you're right although I can't imagine someone not being in-tune with their vehicle enough to not pick up on it. I know many people are oblivious though. These trucks shake because something's wrong.. Not a characteristic of the design. Not arguing with you at all I just think it's something in the manufacturing.

I agree something is wrong. But if you put better tires on your truck to get rid of the garbage that comes on it from the factory, the dealer will say your tires are the problem.

The simple fact that unresolved shake is an inherent part of the K2 GM trucks and NOT the hundreds of other models effectively takes user error out of the equation. I've driven all manner of piles of crap over the years, from rotted out K10 blazers to cheap old jettas to Type I VWs to hauled-out-of-the-woods peterbuilts, and none exhibit the type of shake mine did. The shake went away after 5k miles of wear, oddly enough.

 

If yours shakes...crawl under and grab and shake the front driveshaft at the transfer case. If yours shakes, I guarantee you can get vertical/lateral motion of the shaft.

My 2017 Denali 6.2, 8 speed had vibration issues. I took it to the dealer and they replaced one tire and road force balanced them all. This took away most of the vibration. I have since changed tires to KO2's and I have no vibrations at all anymore.

Well I can say with my truck it's not the tires. I had some vibration in the right front w/ the stock tires, but now after I lifted and put on 35's it's worse.

I have/had both a 2014 Sierra Crew and currently own a 2016 Sierra double cab and both have the vibration that really takes off around 72mph. I laugh at my ice water cup sometimes it's so ridiculous. Bought both my trucks brand new. Different cab configurations and different wheels and tires. They have the same engine/trans/rear end combos. It's MUCH more noticeable with my SLE though because of that fold down console, it just goes apechit

The test drive does not tell you anything. My 2017 Denali 1500 was smooth as glass up to 6500mi. I did my first tire rotation and there was the shake. 72mph and up. I had all 4 tires balanced right after the 1st rotation, no help. Just rotated them back and lo and behold it is still there even worse. I really don't want to go through the hassle of dealing with the dealer and I also have about 5k in mods headers, cat-back, hard painted tonneau, bedslide, CAI, catch-can, tune. So even if I got them to buy it back it would be a nightmare. I even waited 5k miles before I did those mods just to see if any odd issues would pop up. Looking at the seat next to me shaking back and forth and my vape (e-cig) and glass e-juice bottle start clanking together in the console cup holder really gives me a warm fuzzy feeling inside like I'm riding in luxury.

i have a 2017 Sierra1500, 5.3L crew cab, Vibrates at 85, down shift clunk and on take off, Dealer says there"s nothing wrong, 71,000 miles on it and Transmission goes completely out while I'm on freeway! After a fight they put a new trans in, i had it back for less then 2 months, not even long enough to get oil changed and having the same issues. They wont even check driveshaft after my probably 5 th request, i really like thes trucks but i got the Lemon, totally baffled...

I had the vibration. Torque converter did not like moisture in the tyranny fluid. They changed the spec on the fluid. Tranny flush, new fluid, no problems since. Started at about 60,000 miles. Have almost 90 on him now.
