2016 Silverado non z71 cluster/gauges swap.

If you are going to put work into a cluster, why not just do the large screen cluster swap from the Denali / Tahoe LTZ (or whatever the Chevy version is that has it)?  I can't see doing cluster upgrades unless it is on the premium cluster. 

No worries, i ve done that already and I when I bit further than just the cluster.. I added the HUD ( heads up display) to my Silverado.[emoji6]

I remember seeing the thread where you did that. Its crazy awesome. May I ask what it cost in total to do that whole deal? I might take mine apart and atleast scrape away the paint on my Z71 decal like you did.

pgamboa harness $150

used hud $300

hud switch $25

hud windshield $500-$800

hud bezel $25

 

Takes alot of time to take dash apart and cut a few areas, did it to my 2016 silverado ltz, had huds in gm cars and missed it.

 

best mod ive done yet, and ive installed. Whipple super charger. Love my hud

At that time, I didn’t like the Denali cluster until I found out you could add the HUD with it, then I ended up doing that.
Scratching off the paint off the logo in my Z71 didn’t cost me anything vs spending hundreds of dollars on what I eventually could do and did.

Whew... This is an old thread huh...well, like many on here, I now have the Denali cluster and swapped all the controls over to the gmc red. I've had it for about a year now. And I couldnt be happier. I've been thinking real hard to do the HUD. Its just to much money to have it. So, I'll actually have to look down a few inches at the dash.. lol... Illuminated door handles are in the works for me now though.

Utility knife. Just try to remove the film/paint off it softly
