RivieraGS Posted January 25, 2018 Posted January 25, 2018 Lerbud, when you installed your camera, did you have any problems running the cables and was it a plug and play or did it require a visit to the dealer for programming? Thanks for any help you can provide. Don
lerbud Posted January 25, 2018 Posted January 25, 2018 All plug and play. Hardest part was getting the cable through the firewall grommet. You dont even have to run a power or ground as it uses the factory stuff.
Jel Posted January 25, 2018 Posted January 25, 2018 Thanks Lerbud, that is $60-70 less than best I had found. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

What's cool is, you can drive with it on all the time Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Is there any way to do this with the backup camera?

Coby7 Posted February 27, 2018 Posted February 27, 2018 (edited) Yeah I installed one in my Trax, very handy come insurance time. Practically invisible and records 1080P. Installed it in front of rear view mirror where both wipers sweep and keeps the windshield clean. this is what you see looking in from the front. Edited February 27, 2018 by Coby7 1
jbh4381 Posted February 27, 2018 Posted February 27, 2018 Someone asked earlier about having a backup camera that can be controlled while in motion. I have the Rostra interface installed on my truck and put a 3rd brake light camera on as an option. This system also lets you mirror your phone, and can add a 360* view with cameras if you’d like. Easy to install, just takes time to make sure wires get tucked cleanly behind the dash. I’ve been running it for a month now with no issues. https://www.adcmobile.com/product/multi-camera-interface-for-chevrolet-vehicles/ Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro 1

TxSLT Posted March 12, 2018 Posted March 12, 2018 Who has the best price on these front cameras as of now?
edz71 Posted March 18, 2018 Posted March 18, 2018 I have been following this too, the best so far is from this site www.shopchevyparts.com $399.20 down from $499.00
SoonerTA Posted June 26, 2018 Posted June 26, 2018 I just purchased from shopchecyparts.com and received the 5% new customer discount. With the cheapest shipping, at $19, and with the discount it came to $399.61. From what I have read, it seems like a pretty easy install. I am hoping with this kit I can upgrade to additional cameras in the future.
SoonerTA Posted July 11, 2018 Posted July 11, 2018 Update, I received the Echomaster Intellahaul front camera system. Extremely easy install. Just watch the videos on Youtube by Echomaster. The hardest part was going through the firewall. There is a rubber grommet, where the main wiring harness goes through, but there seems to be multiple layers to it and under the dash you can't seem to get your hand through all the mechanicals to even get to the grommet. In about an hour or so it was complete. The instructions state to put the camera right under the bowtie but I chose to go lower after what Jmiller11331 recommended. All in all I am very happy with the result.
