I was referred here from SS when I asked about the TruXP exhaust.  I'm glad you posted a video...it really sounds LOUD.

Exhaust was definitely loud and sounded good.  But I couldn't take the V4 mode at all.  And to make it worse, it seemed like my truck was in V4 almost all the time except when I was accelerating.  So I've swapped back to stock for now.  I'm on the fence about what I want to do now.  Definitely loved having exhaust, but man that V4 mode sounded brutal.

I have to think that all exhausts aside from factory behave the same way in V4.

Borla makes one, I'm not sure if it's available exclusively through GM but they have one with the device that allows the v4 to not sound like garbage.

Wish I could help more but mine already has a tune as I never planed on keeping v4 mode. I suppose you could look at having that piece spliced into your catback before the muffler. Unsure if that solves the problem but I'd imagine it could be worth a shot if cheap enough to try.

Yeah, i also thought about getting a longer muffler with the 3" in and 2.5" out to see if that helps at all.  it most likely won't, so i need to decide if a tuner is the next step for me.

From everything I've read it won't, but give it a shot if you want. If you do decide on the tune route I only have experience with Black Bear Performance but I couldn't be happier with the outcome. Super helpful group and great output, truck is entirely new.

So I just bought the other Truxp exhuast that is made by Gibson. I picked up the dual rear exit system from Auto anything for $210 shipped to my door and it's the Gibson 5657 system. I'll post a video once I get it installed, but for $200 I figured why not.. it would cost me that much to have a muffler welded into the stock system (100 for muffler/$100 for labor)

They just lowered the black tip to $280.80.  Just called up and got a $70 credit.

I love autoanything and their 1 yr price match guarantee.

I have a love-hate relationship with this website. I was going to wait on this because it's not stainless and I live in new england, but for the price I'm gonna give it a shot and see what happens.

Looking forward to it.

in V8 mode it really did sound great.  i just couldn't deal with the v4 mode at all.

I'm sure it did. I contacted flowmaster about their outlaw kit and they actually recommended their american thunder kit (which this is based) saying that the outlaw kit isn't as "refined". Not sure exactly what that means but I figured that even if I don't like the standard muffler I can swap it and worse comes to worse I can replace the whole kit if needed.

My main concern is going non stainless with the salt in new england. We will see if thats an issue with time.

I think there's still a 3 yr warranty on the kit.

Actually used the chat feature and got it down to $266 shipped. Should be here tomorrow, while I'm in NYC obviously. Can't wait till Friday night to put it on, that's for sure.
