Yank or Circle D?

I am thinking of going with a Yank 3200 converter for my 2017 Silverado. I have had two buddies who had the Yank truck converters and one had a Circle D.  The one who went with the Circle D had to get it replaced. Just curious if anyone is running the Yank converter for the 6L80E. Mod wise my truck is NA stock cam and heads.

Are you planning on building the motor? A 3200 stall in a 6 speed trans is very aggressive for a stock engine. I would think 3000rpm stall if I were making 550whp in these trucks. But if your plans are to make the power, it would be a good investment. It will hurt the easy drivability of your truck at your current power level though. At the same time you don't want to do H/C/I and tear the trans up before you have the converter done. As far as Yank goes, I don't know anyone running them. Circle D has a very strong reputation in the GM world.

The truck might get a supercharger but for right now it will stay NA and stock other than an e85 tune. Runs pretty good right now just always heard even without a cam NA a stall will really wake up a vehicle.

Nice.  I gotta track that tuner down and have him tune my 6.2.

He tuned a 2016 Double Cab Sierra with a 6.2 a while ago and after he tuned it all he told me was I should have got the 6.2 lol.

Have you thought about a circle d  restalled stock converter?  He did a great job with the 4L transmissions. A lot of guys with Trailblazer SS's used them. I'd bet his 6L converters are pretty good also.  They're not too expensive either.

Dam your truck runs harder than my stock 6.2 and 8 speed. Any idea of what its making for power and mod list?

I heard back from Chris with Circle D last night. He recommended their 278mm converter with a 3000-3200 rpm stall. The Yank equal to that is 850 with shipping and the Circle D is 599 with free shipping. I think I am going to go with the Circle D because of the good things I have heard and the cost. Both are great converter company's. I have a buddy who had a heavily moded 03 Silverado SS heads, cam, headers, and a 200 shot with a Yank Stall with 80,000 miles on the stall zero issues and sold it with the stall still in it. My other buddy has a 03 Silverado Z71 cam, heads, headers and a Circle D stall with 100,000 on that stall and still works great. I have confidence in both companies.

I have not had a chance to dyno my truck but via the HP Tuners software the other night granted it was 20 degrees out it was showing 410hp and 450tq at the crank and I pulled off a 5.56 0 to 60 that night also. That is with a K&N drop in filter, Airaid MIT, Black Widow 250 muffler with the 3rd cat and resonator delete, Klug Performance e85 tune, Black Rhino 18s, and Falken Wildpeak AT3s 265/65 18R. That video was with the stock wheels and tires. Last year I ran one 13.96, and consistent low 14s full street weight. I am hoping with the flex fuel sensor I'm going to install and the Circle D converter I will see a 13.7x with good air and consistent high 13s.

Hmm that should be about where my 6.2 sits for quarter miles. I’ve seen slips of all stock crew cab with 6.2s in the 13.7-13.8 range.

Id really like to get some e85 on my 6.2. Here in South Dakota e85 is everywhere lol

The 6.2 trucks are very impressive. I love my 5.3 on e85 and the direct injection GM motors seem to like it lol.

Do you have just the Airaid MIT tube or the tube and air box?

Just the tube. Buddy was selling it. I really have not seen any performance gains. It looks nice and I got it really cheap lol. The stock air box flows really well. Hell when you get the Magnacharger for the 6.2 and 5.3 they use the stock air box. :)

I agree.  I got my MIT tube for $100.  I used it on my 5.3.  I am picking up a 4" rubber hose 3" long to fit the throttle body on my 6.2.  It came with a 4" to 3 1/2"ish rubber neck down for the throttle body.  I think that's the only difference.  I'm gonna use it anyway

My next item I want to try in a Green Filter. I hear they flow a little better than the K&N filters.
