Does this smell of a scam to you?

I'm looking at buying new 20" chevy wheels and came across this craigslist ad that seems like a really good deal for the wheels, center cap, lug nuts, tire sensors and tires.

My concern is it's either a scam or maybe the wheels aren't what they seem? Is there anything I should look for if I go see them?

Sounds reasonable as far as pricing I’m In California most people around here are always selling stocks as soon as they leave the lot .

Thanks. The ad sounds like it's a business doing upgrades on stock trucks. Then when I put in the address in Google Maps it looks like just some dudes house out of town.

Scam? Seems like a lot of cash for stock rims and tires to me.

Really? I can only find original 20" snowflake wheels for about $400 each new. That alone is $1600 for a set of four. So for $75 more I'm also getting the sensors, tires, lug nuts and center caps.

Do you know of a better place to buy them?

Not a bad price seeing they are complete.  If you talk new value, that's $100 in OE nuts, $320 in OE TPM sensors, $800 in tires and $1600 in wheels.  Can you buy replicas for $1600?  Sure, but OE is always nice for replica $$$.

If its from a truck mod shop, I wouldn't call it a scam per say, head down and take a look at them.

A lot of people register llc’s out of their own home. Business has to get started somewhere.

Also, make sure tou want some crappy SRA's with that purchase.  Most people hate that tire and its poor performance.

I'm trying to sell my rims right now, the tires are spoken for. I want 800 for my original 20" rims, truck is going into the shop next week, so the timing is good.

Well the wheels and tires look brand new. A couple still had green stickers on the sidewall and the tires where had nubs all over them.

I offered $1500 for everything but he said he couldn't do that, then he offered $1600 and I took them. I actually stuck around for a few minutes and he's got a good sized garage full of stock wheels and tires. He gets them from another place that does upgrades for dealers then turns around and sells them on craigslist.

Went home and put them on.

I'd still like to get a set of more aggressive looking tires but I'll wait until these tires need to be replaced.

Now I just gotta take the truck in to the dealer to have the tire sensors re-learned.

Well, when you break it down like that, then yeah, not bad at all. I think I see other take off's on Ebay for less, but maybe not as nice a wheel. After going with aftermarket wheels on the '16 WT, I will also be sticking with the stock wheels on the '17 SLE I have now.
