Steering wheel clicking noise.

Has anyone experienced this?

I took it to the dealer because not only was it making the noise like in the video, my steering wheel would surge back in certain situations very hard, I would have to fight the wheel. They reprogrammed something in the computer for the power steering and it fixed the steering wheel lashing back at me.

The noise your hearing doesn't happen all the time.

The dealer couldn't recreate this specific noise, but it will still happen to me occasionally.

My wife's 2015 Tahoe did that same thing. Dealer said they couldn't replicate it but I think they were FoS. Anyway I believe there is a bulletin about it.

It's driving me insane, this entire truck is a pos, issue after issue.

Did you ever look in on the bulletin?

I would do a Google search for the problem you are having and the bulletin should pop up or be discussed in a thread that will refer to the bulletin.

I searched for hours last night. No luck yet.

Well, I was just driving home from work today. My steering wheel locked while I was driving, slammed on the brakes, slid right into a ditch

Sorry to hear that. Hope you are OK. It will be interesting to see what the Dealer has to say now. I searched also for about an hour. Plenty of info on the problem and how to fix but like you never found the actual bulletin number. You would think the dealer could pull it right up as this affects GMC, Chevy and Cadillac.

I took the truck straight to the dealer after it happened. They gave me a loaner truck.

Now it's time to play the waiting game to see what they have to say.

I don't have that problem, but I found that I got an alignment recently because the truck was pulling to the left, so the front right tire was toe in a bit. Now, the steering wheel seems to be "looser "towards the left-hand turning side. I'm not sure if I'm explaining this correctly.

Basically figure a straight steering wheel when you're driving down the road, the normal friction you get turning to the right side is normal in my truck, however turning to the left side seems to be much more easier. Almost as if I have more play turning to the left then as opposed to the right. Any suggestions?

If you have the before alignment report and after alignment report I would take it back to the alignment shop and let them know what it is doing or take it take a shop that specializes in alignments(maybe a shop that does lifts on trucks). Good luck.
