You could make it a little more comfortable/useful by inserting a "Z" in the middle, so the main part of the lever stays where it is, but it puts the end of the lever out an inch or two so you can get the knob on.

Can someone take a digital caliper and take a measurement of the shaft that the knob slides onto? I make custom shift knobs for cars and trucks and I am trying to find the measurement of the 4x4 shifting lever so I can find an adapter that will work for a customer of mine.

What do you do with the knob on the dash?  My truck is an LT without the console.  I think it'd be cool if I could put in a floor shifter.

Doesn't work that way.. If you have the knob on the dash, you can't convert to the shift on the floor.. LS & WT trucks have manual shift on the floor, LT and up have the electronic knob on the dash...

Hey there, Im looking to do this same thing, but was curious how hard it would be to do the full swap so its electric 4wd shift nob?

Do you have more pictures of the full center console tying into the dash?

...just fyi, this is a 5 year old thread and the person posting the pics w the console/4wd shifter hasn't logged onto the site since shortly after then.  You aren't going to get a response from that user.

And it appears to be the stock gm console being installed, so it "ties into the dash" in the stock way.

Absolutely love how that turned out. I’m about to put 1 of these in my regular cab shortie. Did you do anything special to cover that hole on the side of the hump? I hope I can get my cut hole as perfect as yours. Thank you for the inspiration on this.
