Hey everyone,

I'm in the process of purchasing a 2018 tahoe rst premier. GM doesn't offer the seating arrangements that i require so im looking into swapping out the front center console for a jump seat and adding a jump seat between the second row captains chairs. Any info or links on completing this would be greatly appreciated!

Look in the classified for a Silverado jump seat and try and find someone to swap captain chairs for their 60/40 split bench. Worth a shot.

This is exactly what I would do...  So I take it the Tahoe RST can't be ordered with a 60/40 split bench seat for the 2nd row?  That's weird if that's the case...

There are a few 2nd row 60/40 split bench seats available on eBay for a decent price:

Just keep a look out and you should be able to find something that works for what you need.

Yes this would be the way to go! There is no way you could put a truck jump seat between the captains chairs that wouldn't completely ridicules! imo. If you need that much room it almost sounds like you should have gotten a Suburban or an XL.

Here is an 18 silverado jump seat in my 18 suburban. Ebony leather and stiching in upper match perfectly - the lower cloth part matches carpet behind seats so it all does tie in pretty well. Best part - usable cup holders! I may get leather cover for seat portion, but I only have 2 kids, and there is still the 3rd row. You do have to remove armrests for it to fit. Kids love it... 5861322e1423f603ed64242851c1f6e3.jpg7a700a051adc3c3fef51e91457a4e3c3.jpg3d689dd5bb9cf79ef1ada80c19e5edde.jpg

So is there a way to secure this or is it just sitting there?

Working on it. Got floor brackets in yesterday, and will do a custom bottom attachment to raise it up a bit off the plastic. The front hump is wider so I plan to shape it a little...e50a989d5bb1f5273751850f1770028e.jpgda250ddf11f9f8f5f1a991b8791fce12.jpg

So great to see something other than replacing the captain seats with a bench!

Update on the jump seat installation? I have been looking into adding another seat and would like to do something similar in our 2017 suburban.

Nice! I am liking this upgrade.  I am moving from my old 1990 Suburban to a 2016 or so Yukon XL Denali soon, and I was thinking I would miss the 2nd row bench sometimes.  This is a great way to have it all.  Looking forward to any updates on the install.  I thank you in advance for saving me the trouble of debugging the details.

Done. I used some granite counter brackets and some tab bolts from a nerf bar install kit. Very sturdy now and storage in both upper console, behind cupholders, and under seat. Has a lap belt too. Going to be an arm rest with 3 cup holders 95٪ of the time, but you never know when you need an 8th spot...92e26a6c7567ec0be4b230dfe1849a0f.jpg1183d14e9a3cbce8efcfaf83d903989d.jpg40ee00769edc097172595ce987950a09.jpg

Awesome Job Texas Daddy. Do you have a video or details of how it's been done? I am trying to do it by myself. Is it a jump seat of Sierra? Do i need to drill the floor to attach the granite counter brackets?

Question about the install.  I have ordered a jump seat/console for my 2nd row to sit between the 2 bucket seats.  Did you drill holes in the bucket seat mounting bracket (painted black) on the floor?  Mine has one hole in the vicinity of your mounting bracket, and I am wondering if you used it, or did you drill new ones?  Also, it appears you did not go through the floor of the vehicle, is that correct?  Other than the 4 mounting brackets, did you secure it any other way to the vehicle body?
