Decaldded Wheels

Has anyone attempted to declad the factory chrome clad wheels from the LTZ or SLT trims? I know this was done on the previous GMT wheels but have yet to come across anyone that has done this on the K2XX series wheels. Here is an example of the wheels.

I’m not a fan of the right picture, it may look better in person. I’ve not seen anyone mention it before on the k2 forums.

The only K2 wheel that has cladding like those old ones is the Silverado Custom trim with its 5 spoke 20" wheel.  All the other K2 wheels are aluminum wheels that are chromed via whatever chroming process GM uses.  No glued on cladding.

i did in on a set of 6 spoke GMC wheels from a 2009. after like 2 weeks of working on them in the evenings i gave up and traded them to a buddy for some paint work. Not work the effort IMO. also none of the factor center caps will work with them so you either have to run custom ones, or deal without them.

I am not sure that is 100% correct. I think they have improved the process to where it is better looking than what it was on the previous generation. From what I seeing and hearing it sounds like no one has attempted this on the newer ones.

Its not cladding, except on two wheels as arkangel added, on his 2018 Sierra SLT.  The others are chromed aluminum.  The others are not glued on at all.
