My  2015 Silverado 1500 4x4 LT Z71, 5.3, 6 speed, 3.42 axle crew cab,  runs flawlessly on 87 octane Top Tier fuel. I have tried 89 with no change in performance or mileage. Note: I am using a Range and an Elite catch can.  I had no issues before making these changes. I do a CRC GDI intake cleaning every 10 k miles also. I now have 45k miles and use no oil between 5000 oil changes (Mobil 1 0W20 )  I wonder why others are having issues with a 5.3 and 87?

Who knows? Could be where we live (hotter climates) or how we drive or just about anything. Mine didn't do it all the time, but it did enough to concern me ... Especially since we were shopping for a camper.
