Like 1.5 or 2 inches on each side I believe.  Enough to throw rocks at your paint even with stock rims but I'm not a fan of running boards either.

I'm not a fan of tires sticking way out either, but keep in mind if you don't widen the track at least some when lifting, you do loose stability.  A 3" increase for a 4.5" lift is pretty reasonable.  With 20's you can use the stock wheels with the BDS 4.5 so that helps keep it to a minimum, when you add aftermarket wheels with a much different offset on top of that, it can become excessive to some tastes.
