Sin in the Koine Greek means to "Miss the mark". When something is designed to fulfill a purpose and it fails to do so...that's sin being referred to. Humans were designed to live forever in perfection; no disease, no death, no pain, no suffering. Read the first three chapters of Genesis very carefully. That's the sin he died for. A chance to fulfill our purpose.

True, many find such a gift a joke. But he knew that when he gave it. And still he did. Amazing.

Speculation of course but I bet it would not only prevent oil from leaking out of the engine as explained here, but probably would prevent any future oil use within the cylinders as well once it gets a chance to work its way through the engine for a few minutes
