Nitto Ridge Grap wearing after a week

No, I’m talking about these. My brother had these on his High Country and got 19k out of them. He’s on his 3rd set within 50k. He drives 200 miles a day but loves the look and his company pays for the tires. There is no mileage warranty on this tire. Check reviews on this tire. Only negative is mileage. Now you might be confused on the mileage rating. The Terra Grapplers have a mileage warranty of 50k on some tires.

Wow, not at all what the Discount Tire website shows at all. My neighbor is running his second set on his 2016 with 70K on his truck, he’s had them on from purchase and his truck is lifted. I believe he said he got 40K off the first set and now approximately 30k on second with plenty of life left on them. All in all, I’m just much happier with the way these ride compared to the two sets of KO2’s I had on. I just need to try them out in the rain.

I went straight to their site when you said they have a wear rating of 50K. Maybe I missed it but they don't have any kind of mileage warranty or rating on them. The only A/T tire I see with a rating is the Terra Grappler G2 and it has 50K.  They both have a tread depth of 16/32nds. Seems odd that they make a more aggressive tread pattern with a lower rating tread compound with the same tread wear warranty of a less aggressive tire with a high tread wear rating. Maybe its magic.

Oh no, never said they’re 50K warranty, just that’s what people are getting. I’m ok if they last only 30K cause I usually replace my tires every 1 1/2 yrs anyway.

Love the tires. So much better than the BFGs. All I know is I damn well better get more than 20k out of them, jesus. I see no way that these don't last at least until 40k.

Here’s mine

Trimming was done (left front wheel) just to the bottom left of that little black screw, took off about two inches. Crazy thing was that the right front wheel didn’t really need it, did it anyway but the alignment has a lot to do with it. Two alignments, one after 2.25” level and one after front 5100’s installed. Apparently, alignment has a lot to do with it.

Are yours wearing about the same? What PSI are you running

Yes, Don’t worry about these tires at all when it comes to premature wearing. Just about everyone I know with a truck is running these. A very good friend of mine that is the GM of a large off-road company highly recommended them to me.

I’m running them at 35 cold and they work themselves up to 38 psi.

Getting approximately 19 mpg with them on highway and they’re really heavy too.

I’m getting my rear diff cover switched out to G2 Brute ball milled too cause the added weight will add additional stress to the rear end.

Remember, unless you’re towing just keep them at the rated psi on inside driver door. My 2018 Sierra says 35. These tires do not need additional air pressure unless you’re towing. Go to Nitto’ web sight and you’ll put your size then you’ll see at 35 psi it’ll be more than enough to run your truck. My tires at 285/60/20 are rated at approximately 3700 lbs each at full psi, 2500 at 35 psi which is perfect [emoji1305]

Good luck to you. I hope you get 40K. If you do then ill change to those next go round. You'll be the only one I know getting more than 20k out of them. They're not meant to last much more than that hence the no UTQG rating or mileage warranty. I have my fingers crossed for you

I reckon if the OP is also running them at 35 PSI, it is not enough.  LT need a lot more air than P-Metrics to support the weight of the vehicle and keep the tire cool.

On mine own truck, 42 PSI comfortably exceeded all the weight ratings but they wore quickly and I foolishly lost a lot of life out of them, BFG KO2s.  BFG told me to run them at 50 PSI and I was slow to come around.  The ride is better and they are wearing a lot less than before now.  They could have gone 60K, I'll be lucky to see 40K because I ran them too low early on.

Thank you, let’s start thinking outside the box, we could look at this way too: you’ll be the only one that hasn’t gotten at least 40K.
Ready reviews, watch videos don’t just go off what your brother says. My brother drives like an idiot wearing out his AT tires doesn’t mean that specific one wears out that way. Like I said, think outside the box. Be safe and God Bless

Only if you chose to ignore the 90% of users getting good mileage from them (for an offroad-capable tire).  Here are mine at 20K:

You have to look closely to even notice they're not brand new.  13/32 of tread left, 70%.

    • Correct.  2019-2021 model years are serviced by a different p/n.  19420611.  Recall 2021s use 19420611.   The recall engines 2022-2024 model years are serviced with 12740076.     The difference between 19420611 and 12740076 is GM changed injector size for 2022.  The injectors are smaller on 12740076 with smaller injector bores in the cylinder heads to match the smaller injectors.  So you can't install a 19420611 in a 2022-2024, and you can't install a 12740076 in a 2019-2021.     Both engines are the replacement engine p/ns that are in the L87 recall.  So both of these are the updated engines.     Here's a version of the L87 recall with the p/ns for all the parts needed.    RCRIT-25V274-7075.pdf   Note it shows 19420611 and 12740076 with an asterisk to a footnote "Use the VIN and the GM Electronic Parts Catalog (EPC) to determine which part to order if two or more part numbers are listed for the same part, as it may vary by vehicle options."
    • Looking for advice from this group. Took my flawless 2020 6.2 TB to an unnamed shop for routine rear brakes and oil change. Tech forgot to put oil back in after the full service and needles to say, destroyed my engine.  It’s all on their shop video so they are responsible.   I had my Chevy dealer do the analysis and they confirmed its compromised and said engine replacement. The manager said they only get GM reman engines from GM with full 3 yr warranty and the one they would put in is not same as what’s they are swapping out on 21-25 for recall.    I am looking for advice why that would be a different engine because obviously I had the good 6.2 year and replacing it has my concerns with that recall for 21-15   Also what’s the pros and cons of accepting the engine swap vs telling the shop that bricked the truck to pay up so I buy a new truck. I’m concerned about stigma resale eventually if I just decide to get rid of it after the swap or other issues showing up after the swap out.
    • Just looked up my records.  I've never gone over 5000 miles between oil changes.  At 46K miles, I have 10 oil changes.  I hope that will help.  I also installed the disabler last year.  I've still had a few times when it didn't seem to engage (which I can tell because the start stop feature kicks in), but for the most part, I think it's working.  For some reason, GM did not include the number of cylinders running in the information screen like I had on other models.  In my Cadillac, it shows me when it's running on 4 cylinders on the fuel milage screen.  I can't find that on my '21 Denali.
    • you might read through the info on gmupfitter.com for your truck, to find a good power source.
    • Melling I believe is/was the OEM on the lifters who explored this problem some years ago. The white paper they generated on the topic indicated two items of note when I read it. 1.) They only fail on the switch. Prevent the switch, prevent the failure. 2.) The majority fail due to deposits messing up the timing of that switch. Anyway that's what I got from it.    Mine have always been active, 195K+ now, and my oil maintenance is surgically clean.    Of course this assumes good parts. That is no heat treat issue or machining flaws. I get comfortable that these issues are in the rearview mirror by about 30K. IMHO naturally.
