Brand new 2018 GMC Sierra Z71 SLE

Not too impressed with the factory sound system.

What is the approaches to improving it?

1st new truck in 13yrs....the touch screen and other crap looks like it aint easy/cheap to mess with the factory stereo??

Looking for more bass, more power overall and a lil better sound....in that order.

Not looking to spend a lot and or turn it into a subwoofing silly ass dance studio either.

Listen to rock and country.

Thanks all

The Bose system with amp and sub in my SLT sounds great.

Can you tell your sub exists? Because mine you surely cant lol. Cant hear it, cant feel it. I think my active noise cancelling is stopping the sub from acting like a sub

My mirror shakes so bad it's blurry, and my doors rattle.

Yes it works! :smash:

Lol see my door speakers do that... but if I feel the center console where the sub is, I feel nothing.

Maybe something is wrong or GM cheapened thing up in 16-18?

I have a 14 and my Bose system sounds better than a co-workers new 18 LTZ

Yeah, they dropped the sub size. Netted another 0.2 city MPG. [emoji23]

.. I completely agree^^  .. I will be adding a small amp and sub under the rear seat with a line converter for the signal.. will be a couple of weeks yet before I have time to install

Just sub or amping the speakers too? Because if you do the speakers as well youll need something mkre then that line output converter

just sub for now.. I'll re-evaluate the speakers after I have a little depth and fill from the sub.. a little low range goes a long way

I agree. Most factory stereos are pretty decent once you add a real subwoofer to fill in the lower octaves.

That's my gameplan as well. Add 2 8s under the rear seat

The factory sub is def not that powerful on the bose. The rest sounds pretty good. I added the kicker sub system sub only. Left the boss hooked up sounds much better while keeping the factory feel of everything.
