1) Is the wifi in the truck suppose to connect to my home wifi when I park it in the garage?

2) If so, will it stay connected indefinitely?

3) If so, how can I tell that it's connected?

Thanks!

I didn't pay for the hotspot so i connected mine to my home wifi for software updates. I'm not sure how long it connects each time. You can check by going into the wifi options.

I don’t think it connects automatically. I always manually select my home WiFi. I’m not real patient so it’s possible I haven’t waited long enough for it to connect on its own.

I pull into my parking spot in my driveway and it automatically connects to my WiFi. The other day as soon as I put it in park it said there was an update available so I installed it. I didn't subscribe to the built-in Wi-Fi hot-spot once the free trial expired, if I'm away from home and for some reason I need to have the truck connected to the internet I just use my cell phone as a hot-spot and connect to it.

Go to the settings area and you'll find wifi menus ... it's in there.

There is an assumption that you've already setup wifi (as in entered a password for your network).

Yes, I have done this.  Yesterday when I parked in the garage I had to manually choose the house wifi and connected to it that way.  Just wondering if it's supposed to connect automatically.  Under "wifi networks", I have selected "connect to this network first" selected.

It can also store multiple networks. At home ours connects to either the house or our motorhome and at my warehouse, connects to our network there. I have not connected it to the Little Caesar's Arena network that way I don't accidentally download an update and I can't start the truck. ;)

Other than updating the entertainment system, what is the point of this WiFi connection? Does it update the vehicle systems much like a Tesla?

I dont believe so ...  Tesla is so far ahead in this arena.

GM has update after update .... spend a day at the dealer. And most dont want to be bothered unless you can specifically identify a problem.  Irritating as hell.
