I'm not necessarily saying its bad just that it adding a bunch of extra components with little benefit.  I would never use the auto mode.  I guess I'm a little different, for me I had to have a manual transfer case, jump seat(although I wish i got the one with 2 storage compartments), and cloth(GM leather also leaves a lot to be desired and I can get katskinz which are higher quality leather, customizable and half the price as OEM option).

Way back in the day when I worked in the service department of a dealership I took a customer vehicle out for a test drive right after its first oil change.  As we just had a big dump of snow I would always flip the switch to 4hi.  Came to a intersection making a left hand turn that had not been plowed yet and being a underpaid dealership lackey decided to have some fun and gave it some gas to do a nice power-slide in the fresh unmolested snow.  Well it didn't actually transfer into 4hi and I ended up doing a full 360° narrowly missing a curb and a pole.  After regaining my composure I look down at the drive indicator and see its still flashing and didn't properly transfer into 4wd and was still rwd.  Flipped it back to 2wheel and back to 4 and it completed the transfer.  That would not have happened with a manual transfer case.

We differ greatly here.  In most driving situations, Auto is a more appropriate choice (and I spend EVERY Christmas in Newfoundland, so I understand real winter weather...not that Ohio winter's are good, because they suck).  I find a double cab pointless - just get a crew with a real back seat.  I hate cloth seats.  I find the current GM leather decent.  Better than what was in my 2nd Gen Escalade EXT or my first get Avalanche North Face Edition.  Not as nice as the leather in my wife's Audi S4 but it's softer/more supple than what's in my BMW 335i (though likely not as durable).  I would have been happy if GM offered the truck as AWD like my EXT was, since towing/hauling are my use cases, not off-roading.

Sorry I missed this.  The lights are still holding up great and get used daily.  I've been super impressed with them from the moment I unpacked them.  The 5d optic really does make them like a laser. They reach so far down the road.  Held up two Canadian winters now with absolutely zero issues.  Too bad they don't seem to offer these exact units anymore.
