I need help trying to figure out what to do with my slate gray 2500.  I can't find any pictures of them that aunt stock.  I plan on leveling with stock wheels and 295/70r18s.  I would love to see what you guys with the same color have done!

I really like the slate gray color! I was trying to get one instead of the white I ended up with. There is one in my town on a 10inch lift and powder coated everything I did but color matched to his body. Running on 24x14’s wrapped in 37’s. It is SUPER tough! I hope to see some nice ones posted here.

Absolutely NOTHING wrong with your white truck, one of the nicer trucks (any color) I've seen  Although, after seeing the slate gray, it is a very nice color...haven't seen it before.

Thank you sir! I don’t think there are a ton of them out there because I’ve only seen 1 or 2 in person. The first time I saw the gentleman’s truck I mentioned before I thought it had been wrapped but after speaking with him I found out the color name and that’s during the time I was looking to buy a truck. And there were only a few in California they could even show me.

I love the color and the fact that it’s rare but it sure makes it hard to decide what I want to do with it when I can’t just google it and find some samples!  It’s even harder to find them in a 3/4 ton.

I see maybe on average 1-2 a week in Slate Gray.. I love the color, it had to grow on me but its a pretty cool color I think. I think they brought it sort of back for the 2019 models as santin steel looks really close to it.

Any suggestions for my truck you guys have?

Jake Post up some pictures first!

This is it after I added tow mirrors.  I hate it right now with these 17”s and pizza cutters!

Ok decided on the stock 18”s with 287/75r18 Toyo RT.  Super happy with how it turned out!

I know this thread is old but I wanted to add my truck as a contribution.  Not many Slate Grays out there.  Have any of you noticed that on many shopping sites it's not even listed as a color option?

    • Still looks like a rivet to me in the pics, I don't see a nut and none of the pics show the head of the screw. But if you says so.....
    • Thanks for all the help so far!   I did try right from 2026 right down to 2021, and only from 2023 down lets me select the option for tire psi change, but I get the vehicle not supported error!   I'll definitely try it under Chevrolet after work today, and I'll get the sensor number from gm for my truck tire sensors. And I'll let you know if it works for me under Chevrolet!   And if that doesn't work, I'm going to guess that what @Atlas said about maybe I have a different body control module could be true!
    • From where I'm sitting this sounds like a compatibility problem. I'm assuming the 2007 was a 900-series truck, and not an 800-series (they were sold side-by-side in dealerships that model year), since it starts and runs.   This is why I HATE post-2006 vehicles. Everything becomes a huge problem when you try to keep the thing running for longer than the manufacturer has designed it to.    I can't remember when Global-A architecture started - either '10 or '11. For your sake, you had better hope it's '11, or you're going to be spending some BIG money to correct this cluster-eff. That's something you need to find out before doing anything else. You may have several computers bricked ... but the fact that it runs tells me you MIGHT be ok here.     EDIT: Just did a quick refresher. You're screwed. This is Global-A. The 2 systems are NOT compatible in the slightest. Once you get the correct engine in there that IS compatible, you're going to need to see how many computers are locked. Absolute NIGHTMARE to straighten out, too. Your buddy might be better off cutting his losses and finding something else.   Welcome to post-2006 vehicle electronics. This is why I quit the industry, and drive nothing built after 1994. This stuff takes all the fun out of wrenching!

    • True, hard to say what differences there may or may not be between Chev and GM as well as a production year or mid year part change either.    I just found it odd that under the Sierra choice on the Autel that many of the last few years of production year did not include the choice of changing the tire pressure but if that is an Autel thing or a GM thing as to why the choices were not there. Knowing what tpms sensors are on the truck should give some guidance into which choices on the tool even make sense to try as I wouldn't give up just yet with the tool but I guess he will see what if anything he comes up with if he finds out a bit more info and tries a few more things on the Autel.
