Magaflow catback flapper question

I just installed my Magnaflow 15267 catback with the v4 flapper in it. It sounds great but.... When the exhaust pressure is large enough to open the valve it makes a loud whistling noise out the tail pipe.

Has anyone experienced this with a flapper catback?

And I thought I was going crazy.

I had this on my Chevy Borla system. They sent me a new front pipe (has the valve in it) and it improved with initial installation. Has improved now to the point where it is only heard above 5k rpm, and even then it's almost gone.

It was never near as bad as yours, but above 4k rpm, initially, it was noticeable.

Yeah its extremely lame. I want to just take it out completely. I think I can reach a sawsall blade in there but I can't remember

i clocked mine open ,and ran a 3 inch 1/4-20 screw thru it with two big fender washers! no more whistle

Well this seems to have done the trick. I'm going to have that shit cut out so I don't have to worry about this screw falling out.

the screw holds the bracket open which is connected to the flapper, no sawzall required, it's easy as taking a shit....i'll post a pic soon

Sounds nice! Man I wish my head can still handle the sound these days. the heart loves the sound of loud exhausts but my ears just can't take it anymore.
