I don't think they'll be harsher, but Monroe has always been "eh" on quality for me.

Any reason why you don't just want to replace the shock and keep your spring? I think you'll have better results on this path.

Monroe Magnum Part # 153026 If this is the part number you looking at:

3.25" of stroke which is factory equivalent. Not supplied with shaft travel bump stops. I can't find this shock without a spring actually. Monroe is a TENNECO company. Same people that supply the black factory units and the factory Rancho. Just some info.

Clearly you know that a 2" pothole is a death sentence. We don't want them breaking their truck!

These trucks really cannot be driven over anything but level pavement. You don't have a desert racing truck suspension. Please avoid all potholes or any hills, or you'll be sorry!

Not with a good aftermarket Monotube Shock.

Throw on a set of Bilstein 4600 or 5100s.

They excel at soaking up potholes and no more bobble head action.

I was being facetious.
