Ridge grappler 305/60 r18 rating

Hello everyone new here....thank you for all the information and experience y’all  provided in other threads out here...

i own a 2016 crew cab 4x4 5.3 and its time for new tires. I don’t do much hauling and off-roading but when it comes to using it would be great if I had a good setup.

 

Doing some tire shopping/research after finally deciding on the tires I want I came to realize that the nitto ridge grappler 305/60r18 doesn’t have a “LT” rating and has a 116 load index while almost all others have lt and a 120+ ratings...

I really wanted these tires since these seem to be the biggest I can go and hopefully no rubbing but I’m back to being undecided because of this.

 

if anyone could give me some advice from their opinion/experience with tires and ratings on what I should do would be truelly appreciated!

They are Standard Load tires, same as factory tires.  They do not increase weight rating, so not the best tire if you do much towing

I’ve got 295/60/20 (34”) Nitto Ridge Grapplers
Great tires and very durable but I’d also look at the KO2’s. The KO2’s are slightly smoother but sidewall protection is better with the Ridge Grapplers, they also look more aggressive than the KO2’s.

The only beef I’ve got with my Ridge Grapplers is they’re a bit rougher when you’re driving in the E-F rated tires, excellent all around tires. IMHO, don’t look at anything else, either one of the two will be a great choice, personal preference on looks.

Swapped out my OEM Goodyear's to Nitto Ridge Grappler's (275/60/20) a month ago.  I like the look of them and look forward to trying them in the snow, but in the mean time, they're as noisy as can be at anything above 35 mph, especially on the highway.  Contemplating just getting a spare set of rims with some smooth street tires like the Goodyears again.

Had the KO2’s right before my Ridge Grapplers, depending on your vehicle, rolling sound the same to me. The Nitto Ridge Grapplers are well known for not being as loud of a tire but I’d have to agree that there’s a slight hum which you’d find in any AT tire. It also depends on your age vehicle and the factory in cab sound proofing. Snow and ice, no idea but if you’re looking for a dedicated AT tire for snow and wet traction I’ve heard the Goodyear Duratracs and the BFG KO2’s are really good. Good luck
