Surprisingly, my truck has VTI code too, but the QR code doesn't list it. ?

Now I'm purely confused with the temp. The only thing I can see is different thermostats for the same engines, or some defects in my engine, since it runs in low temperatures at all times ?

My 2015 always showed 210 F. I removed the 207 thermostat and installed a 180 F. Still reads 210 F.

Shutters were not part of the deal when I bought my 2015 and I wish they would have been. Open they do not inhibit air flow. Closed they speed up heat up. Pretty nice feature if you consider the oil is heated in the radiator during cold starts. IMHO anyway. I have need to tape my grill in the middle of Midwest winters to do the same job the shutters would do automatically. No one make a canvas grill cover for gas motored 1500 that I have found. Doing so has been good for about 3 mpg in the winter months and hurts nothing that I can tell.

Mine has been the exact same way. I just picked up my Silverado last week an noticed it runs cooler than my 2014 and takes longer to warm up. I also noticed the oil pressure tends to run higher until the engine warms up a bit as well, around 500-600kpa which is around 72-90 psi. Not sure if that's just coincidence though.

I've seen analog's in the past that basically have a "low", "at operating temp" and "high" movement of the needle with nothing really in between.  When the needle is actually put on the cluster if it's not perfectly lined up it could be left or right of the 210 a smidge.  Mine reads a hair over all the time once it's warmed up.

 

Just a thought- pure speculation based on past experience.  :)

This has been my experience.  My Jeep Wrangler analog gauge needle never moves, but my digital temperature readout fluctuates between 202° and 226°, when the electric fan kicks in.  I wish my Silverado could display temp and oil pressure in digital format.  At least I can check the transmission temp.

My GMC Sierra was heating up driving up on hills. The issues was that the radiator cap was wore out. It will pollute the coolant. Flush the coolant and buy a new cap as your first option. Also I had to do an oil change since this engine heating will burn your oil.

Some ******'d up design.  My 2017 Cam was always at 160 +\-  I ran the VIN and seen the assembly plant is in Indiana and I live in S. Texas. could the truck been assembled for cold weather. because S. Texas heat and 210 degree seems rather hot and the rad hoses swell up. PROBOBAL SOLUTION; LOOKING FOR A 3 ROW RADIATOR AND GONNA FIND SOMEONE TO  REPROGRAM THE PCM ==FANS

I bought a pre owned 2020 LT   5.3 ( 62,000 miles ) I noticed the T gauge is steady at 210 I looked under the hood and seen a one row radiator. I swapped the T stat to a 180 but goes to 210 anyway Maybe the radiator is the one causing this issue. S. Texas is always hot... I wish the engine temp was cooler. hoses are swollen and ballooned , gotta resolve this

      And to top it off finally.......................these small GM LS engines are designed to SPIN!!!!!  Why choke them down to just off idle for cruising.  Why/how the "bean counters" have influenced the "engineering department" at GM is beyond me.   They took a solid platform of an engine and turned into a joke in OEM form!!!

      Atlas,   Then following your logic we can't believe any story that the MSM produces? I mean it's documented they heavily donate to Democrat candidates. Vote Democrat in high percentages. Many MSM talents are married to Democrat politicians, Gov. employees. That goes for on-air and off, personalities and reporters. So they would all be biased and nothing they produce is to be believed in your mind?   Again the article simply was about ways AI can be used for pricing products. Nothing discounted current situations as a factor.    Again keep looking through your left/right lenses. I don't live my life that way.   And as a heads up this thread will be cleaned up again as much of this is off topic and is receiving

How AI can be and is used to maximize refinery or even Amazon operations all of which are true but because she is who she is; that makes what she says about what is true, false? Is that something akin to Pre-justice aka prejudice?    Look, I'm first in line to approach all information with caution just because we live in a world where people like to lie about someone or something with such a straight face and in such volume that it makes digging to the truth wearisome. Meaning I understand the skepticisms but if I were to toss out everything a person is for a view they hold then my pool of people to draw wisdom from would be non-existent and I'd be forced to reinvent the wheel daily. Not practical.    "Be innocent as a dove but as cautious as a serpent."    Test each word. Every good lie is part truth or no one would believe it. Find the truth in it and reject what isn't.    On this one, AI is being used to do what has been done by hand for hundreds of years already but at such speed, the point of a computer, that it is more easily monetized. This one wasn't that hard a lift.    I wrote a few formulas in a Lotus 123 program decades ago, a series of linked Macros actually, that allowed a daily inventory to be turned into a running P&L and production plan. Something that took three departments a week to assemble now took the time it takes to input the 'daily changes' in inventory. Later that was ungraded to the more powerful Excel program an and integrated with bar code scanning, inventory to supply was done once per shift. It had a huge impact on production scheduling, Seamless interruption flexibility, inventory error reduction, raw materials cost effective utilization and scrap reduction. Huge improvement in the bottom line. I spent months on that and AI could have done it in minutes. So yes, it not only can be used, they would be foolish to not try. The legality, ethics and morality are not the domain of AI. Humans need to keep a reign on it.
