What's a good clamp-on dc amp meter for testing/troubleshooting?

You don’t need a clamp on tester for 12v power. They are usually used in high voltage situations.

Testo volt meters are pretty good for the price. Cheaper then fluke by far.

You said amp meter. Do you mean volt meter?

A clamp-on amp meter to test amps recharging the battery, cranking amps, crap like that. They clamp around the cable measuring magnetic flux and spits a number at ya, amps. Just shoppin around and seenin whats out there for quality, some extra options on it never hurts. I checked out TrueBlue66 from NAPA but she was $250 CDN. and that's a crime. Ha

..I use Fluke only at work (electrical/electronics) and I personally have 3 different Fluke meters at home but for DC clamp on home use I have a "cheap" DC clamp on.. suits my needs for home use and accuracy... and for under $60 CAD you can't go wrong.
