Best drop for 2016 Silverado

What’s up fellas. I’m thinking about going back down with the truck. I was running stock up front with 2” drop shackles and no blocks in the back, but recently put the stock shackles back in and threw a leveling kit and 33s on it. But, the drop feel and look is just more my style and passion.

What drop brands have y’all run with tire/rim size? I’m just going to save up and buy an actual drop this time around, not sure if I wanna do a 2/4 or 3/5. Also, not sure whether to stick with 20s for more wall or go up to 22s. These NBS are just bigger and I feel a drop on 20s just doesn’t look as good. Just wanna get y’alls thoughts on personal experiences with them.

Hey what’s up. I’ve currently got belltech drop shackles with the rear block still in. I’m saving up to get one of their performance plus drop kits. I’ll probably go the 2/4 kit with their  coilovers and thicker sway bar in the front. Also going to add the helwig rear sway bar. I plan on getting the Z28 replica wheels from MRR but staying with 20s and going with slightly wider wheels and tires. Haven’t found an aftermarket style wheel I really like. Check out @qwank truck he has a pretty sweet setup. Pic of my truck with 20s and shackles only.

Bell tech and mcq. Are the most common. And IMO the rear airbag is the way to go. I can change ride quality and still haul everything.

Just did mine 2 weeks ago, haven't got any pictures yet.

I used the 3180 drop struts from mcgaughys, rear lowering shackles and removed the lift block. Pretty much a perfect 1.5in front drop and 3 to 3.5in rear drop. Sits nice and level with minimal rake at to the front still. I haven't trimmed my bump stops yet but I will do that when I feel like it.

The drop struts allow up to 3in of front drop. 1.5 to 2in is about perfect if you want to run stock tire sizes. I have 265/65/18's with no rub at all.

Yeah I know MCQ and Belltech were pretty much the main two people typically go with. I live basically in Houston and we have a pretty reputable shop down here called Reklez, but heard they are pretty steep with the prices. Just going’s to save up little by little and get it all done at once. When I had the 2” drop shackles in the back with no blocks, it still seemed like the back was about 1/2” higher then the front. I’m probably going to go with the DUB Futures if I do aftermarket rims, still undecided. May stick with my stock 20s I have on my 33s right now, or possibly the Tahoe/Yukon 22s.

Reklez sells djm and or inez.  No thanks. Worst kits ever made

Belltech or mcg is the way to go. Its all i use in local truck and even my own.  2.5 years with a 4.5/7 mcg drop on my truck and. It a single issue

Some of your sentences I didn’t understand, but I’m assuming with the last one you meant you haven’t had a single issue?

Ahh okay that’s good to hear. Yeah I’m probably going to go with a simple 2/4 and 22s. Nothing to crazy but still sit good

I feel these trucks need atleast a 3/5 to look lowered. But you can always adjust it down from 2/4 to 3/5 if you get the adjustable kit

I agree with nasty 3/5. With the 22 it will look good I have 24 on a 3/5 and any more would rub bad. Also a re air bag will let you still use the truck. The better kit has the shock shims so you can rise or lower 1/2" at a time. Till you are happy. Worth every penny love my stance.

Yeah I like the 3/5 as well. And I’ve actually always said that these new bodies need a 3/5 to actually looked dropped lol. I also don’t ever do any towing or anything so not to worried on those ends. I just drive back and forth to work and around town some. If I ever drive outside of a certain area, usually take the wife’s car haha. Idk man still undecided but I’m sure I’m gonna go with the MCG though. Do you have any pics @1SLOW1500

Not best photo. But you get idea. I beat the hell out of the truck and it only runs on the top from large bumps in the front. Rear not at all. I want wider tires but in 24 very limited on options. Even on 22 in a replica wheel I am limited. 7d921fa3d42a93d31ce1fdf5676bd8f8.jpg

Looks good though man. Yeah I’m a cautious driver as it is, I literally come to almost a complete stop over speed bumps haha. Truck looks damn good. Here’s a pic of mine now before I go down haha
