Performance after several hundred miles

So my 2019 Silverado 5.3 8sp is driving differently from test drive. During test drive and for the first 200 miles I loved the performance and throttle response. I notice at parked it idled at 500 rpm and now it idles at 0. My question is “ why is this changing and how to change it back?”

If the truck has stop/start, then going to zero at idle is normal.

You can hit the button to stop that but you have to hit it every time you jump in the truck.

Nothing else should be changing, you are probably just used to the truck by now and think it should be faster. The transmission has adaptive learning but that is not going to cause anything different. Nothing you can really do nor would a dealership do anything for you. If the truck runs and drives with no check engine lights or real drive ability problems, they will say it's all normal and send you right back out the door.

Yup.  The start/stop thing is a real POS.  In ALL manufacturers vehicles.  Down where I live a lot of idiots like to finance $40,000+ vehicles that they really cant afford (I was one of them once) and now all you have to do is roll down your window at an intersection waiting at a stoplight and when the light turns green, you hear a bunch of engines starting.  Very pathetic.

I highly doubt that you would know but is there anyway to turn adaptive learning off? I drive differently depending on my moods.

.

The transmissions adaptive learning can't be turned off or altered in the 2019+ vehicles. There is no tuning software that has cracked those computers yet. I've yet to see proof or hear about any shop actually tuning a T1xx body style truck, be it with a 5.3/6 speed or 5.3/8 and 6.2/10 speed.

The Previous gen trucks with the 6 speeds had an upshift adaptive setting that could be disabled as well as a power downshift setting but I never touch those tables and have no idea if that stops all adaptive learning or if it does nothing.

From a calibrations point of view and the manufacturer, having the learning is good for transmission function and life. You're changes in driving style based on mood is not of their concern when they make it.
