Yep I hear ya.  Back in the day when hub caps or wheel covers were missing and just the black wheel was exposed it was trashy looking.  That's just what black wheels remind me of.

One reason I don't like black wheels.  Reminds me too much of the 60's/70's/80's steel wheels (like the transit wheels) that have lost their hub caps or wheel covers .

lol you just identified probably the primary reason for their popularity.. their resemblance to smoothies.

Especially when you've got a retromod.. older truck with bigger brakes, high performance tires, etc.

Being steel they can be trivially painted any color you like and drilled for mounting vintage/replica/etc hubcaps on.

I was tempted to put a set of these on my lowered GMT800 Denali but all the dealer guys I talked to were lazy and

didn't want to help a guy out.

My issue with modern black wheels is that they have so little character IMO.  Mainly the glossy black.  I'm still sad my own matte black wheels didn't fit this winter.. they're too small (16") for the new brakes.

I would also recommend going aftermarket with trex grill add on which makes it looks like a high and country at a low price

Member Tano put a T-Rex and wasn't satisfied. He said it was cheap, satin aluminum (thought it would be shiny chrome like) and his broke the same day and ended up sending it back.

The olé C10 is cool. At least it has hub caps. It's when tbe hub cap or wheel cover is gone is when it looks like crap. That's what modern day black wheels remind me of lol.

For a High Country grille, you'd need to get a VIN from a High Country truck (look at dealers online) then call GM parts direct, Genuine GM parts, GM parts headquarters etc., give them VIN, they'll give you part number, then google part number and compare prices.  Add to cart and check shipping.  The High Country will have the front camera in the grille.   I changed my grill to an LTZ grille on my RST doing the same.  I used my black bowtie and removed the yellow one.   I used an LTZ VIN without camera.  Perfect fit.

That is awesome!

I have a 19 just like yours in NorthSky Blue Metallic, only mine is an LT.

I'm gonna get an LTZ grille for mine too.

Did you install your own?

I love the LTZ grille. The RST has a nice color keyed grille but I wanted a chrome grille to break up some of the blue so I went with the LTZ grille instead of the High Country grille. I don't care for the bronze anodized looking ends on the High Country grille. The chrome grille has a good contrast with the Northsky Blue and the chrome wheels. The LTZ grille came with a gold bowtie but swapped it with the black one off my RST.

I think the LTZ Grille will compliment my LT!

Here's mine in NorthSky Blue Metallic. I absolutely love this color...
