Was in a horrible accident today!

I think she may be totaled!

Ok...I might be acting a little dramatic but this is my first accident in the Silverado.

So I'm a dummy, I pulled too far into a parking spot that had a large yellow pole in front of it.  I've always wondered if the tires would hit the parking stop first or the pole.  Well guess now I know.

What should I do?  Should I look into fixing It?  I've heard you can't fix a dent in chrome.

Yep. She’s a goner. Time for the old truck bone yard!

That's what I was afraid of.  Oh well, it was fun while it lasted.  Good thing I got the GAP insurance.

Can't fix a dent in the bumper. You'll have to get a new one. It'll run you about $1000.

I can't even find one online anywhere.  My deductable is $500.  I assume my rates would go up and it would be better to pay cash if I fix It?  Probably silly to spend $1000 for one dent right?

That should buff right out!  Dang poor trucks.  They deserve better drivers than us :-(.  You getting yours fixed I assume?  How'd that happen?

It's a goner. Set it on fire and push it off a cliff.

Can I just drive it through the showroom floor kind of like those discount tire commercials?

@Philipgonzales3  I get it’s a new truck and you want it to look great, the first damage is always the hardest.  With that said, cars get damaged.  I would leave it alone and keep my rates low if I were you.

And yes I am going to report this damage. It’s just too much.

I was looking at a bear out my driver side window while in a curve at 5 mph. The road apparently straighten out but I didn’t. I drove off the road and up onto a boulder  I felt my front end lift up and I turned toward the right while braking. My truck came off the boulder and I “high centered” it on my driver side rocker panel.  :sigh:

Yeah that's what I'll likely do.  May replace it down the line but guess I won't worry too much about it right now.  And damn, I've never seen a bear so would have done the same.

I'm not sure how hard it is to take the bumper off or how handy you are but,  maybe bide your time and you'll find a used one available to buy... It's sad how bumpers aren't really bumpers these days... I backed into the interior wall of my garage at 2 mph and dented the back bumper on my K2, found one on craigslist for $300, sold the dented one for $125 and I'm happy.. Going to take some time to find one for a T1 tho!

Yeah I see some aftermarket stock looking ones for 2-300$ or so.  Probably not the same quality but I reckon I can wait a couple of years and see what they are going for.  Will likely replace it eventually.
