Just wondering if anyone else has noise coming from the rear axle or bed or suspension when navigating bumps and in reverse. Is this normal? Is it not? Does anyone else have the creaking squeaking bed noises? Thanks

Yes - I have a 2019 RST z71 with 700 miles. I love the truck. Engine is strong, transmission smooth and I like the Bose. Took it to the dealer today to report a noise under the bed whenever the truck is on an uneven surface or say a speed bump. The shop foreman heard it and they decided to keep it and gave me a loaner. He said he was going to check hangers and leaf springs. I have since googled leaf spring noise and read several articles. I will report back but thought I would share. Like you, I would like to know if others have heard this noise. My truck did not do it when new. Good luck!

My strange noise turned out to be my power steps rubbing on frame bracket.

I have a popping noise that occasionally comes from the new designed spoiler on the back of the cab where the third brake light is.  It is plastic and is not loose so I believe it could be flexing somewhat and causing an occasional pop.  Anyone else with this one issue?

My truck has a "snap!" sound but I haven't located it or have any specific reason for it to happen, just every once and a while kind of like a stone coming out of a tire.

I've had the "popping" noise from the rear roof area a couple times turning slowly over large bumps. Sounded like a small acorn dropping from a tree and hitting the roof. I figured it was just due to body flex in that area, perhaps the plastic "spoiler" is flexing and making the noise. Nothing looks out of sorts, so I'm assuming it's just normal. My 2011 Ram used to squeak and pop all the time, I became used to it.

I like your description of the sound I have, but I would like to find out what causes it and fix it.

ours will make noise in rear brake area. but only seems to be first movement of the day on a uneven stone drive, but seems to be everyday....weather wet or dry out

I also get the spoiler popping.  I figured its CTE since I park inside a cold concrete parking garage during the day and usually hear the noise on hot sunny days heading home from work to get my kid.

For the OP, when I put on my cheap nerf bars I noticed some extra creaking when I went over big bumps slowly (i.e. concrete ramp into driveway).  I retorqued the cab bolts going through the nerf bar brackets and its since gone away.

My truck is a 2019 AT4

Just started hearing this noise on my AT4 when going over bumps. I'm at around 1k miles now. It sounds like a hollow squeak. @AT4guy, did you ever get yours resolved?

I just took my truck in for an oil change at 7400 km’s And had them check into the squeak I have now in my 2019 AT4. It’s very annoying and embarrassing for a brand new truck. GM says it’s the leaf springs and there is a fix for it. Some kind of spacer and new u bolts that they ordered for me. Will update once it’s been fixed.

 Same issue.

UncleDave, I have same sound coming from my 2019 RST Z71. I was going to explain in same way as if an acorn dropping from a tree. Hoping we can keep this thread going until we identify the source. Thanks

So was that the problem?  My truck just started doing this. Sounds like a creaking noise when turning off onto uneven pavement. Sounds like it’s coming from the rear. So it may be the springs.

Did tou you ever get yours fixed/figured out?

    • Because that is IDIOTIC, much like this question. They've already been forced to do it by past administrations - why would you roll that back when it's a GOOD thing?  WHO IS ARGUING FOR LOWER MILEAGE???? 😂  NOBODY IS!!   I'm certainly not! What I want is RELIABLE vehicles again that are worth the price paid!    I don't get your logic here ...   In 2003 I paid $2,200 for our '86 Grand Marquis. It's STILL running and I've never been inside the engine, aside for the timing cover since it was leaking, so I threw a new timing set in since that makes sense. Transmission is ORIGINAL. Electric pump in the gas tank is ORIGINAL. Rear end is ORIGINAL. I'd have to hit my head REAL hard to want to pay $60k or more for a car that still can't come close to the comfort, seating and storage space, or reliability of this one. Nothing is even in the ball park! Hundreds of thousands of brands and models have been built and sent to the crusher while this one keeps on going!   https://postimg.cc/Z9XRrCSg   I've got a whole fleet of cars, motorcycles, and a truck close to this age for summer and winter. No one could pay me enough to buy anything built this century. I have zero use for any it.
    • Since I'm the one who has to fix them when they break, I'll take vehicles over 30 years old all day, EVERY day, over ANY modern crap. Have you attempted any repairs on anything built after 2006? It's a friggin nightmare, and gets worse the newer the model year.    If I had the will or desire, I can make any car of any age outside of a Model T (I don't have THAT much will ...) just as powerful, comfortable, and have all the tech the new stuff does, and get pretty close in mileage, too. I prefer SIMPLICITY. The less the vehicle has, the less to fix WHEN it breaks, not IF.   I'm glad you snot-nosed punks don't like them. More for us, plus that keeps the prices from climbing more than they already have.👍
    • Bringing this thread back on topic. I just noticed the incredible lack of bright chrome across the entire new lineup. Even the Denali has tinted the brightwork in the grille and has none elsewhere. None of them have chrome bumpers. As far as I can tell there aren't even chrome mirror caps. I'm curious if this also happens out back? Are there no chrome rear bumpers either? This is quite the departure for GMC.
