My audio is back to true uninterrupted sound again. I have not been back to the dealership to find out what the connector they fixed was but it was definitely the culprit that has caused me grief over the last 3 years. I know they told me initially what it was but I do not know enough about the electrical system to really understand. I just know the connector was bent and changes in the temperature would allow it to temporarily expand enough to lose connection and thus no sound.

GumbyS13 Posted July 21, 2023 Posted July 21, 2023 Really hoping you have got us all an answer to the connector they replaced. Been having this same issues going on 4 years now. Any updates? Or have the dealers # so we can call and ask...
nwarcade Posted July 21, 2023 Posted July 21, 2023 I had the same issues, first the dealer "fixed" the wiring, then replaced the AMP and said I had a rear window water leak, then replaced the head unit after doing "diagnostics" for over a week driving my truck for hundreds of miles for some reason in the process. None of these fixes actually fixed anything. I found my issue at an audio component just above the passenger side kick panel. While the head unit was playing audio I reached up and wiggled the connectors untill I started to have the audio cut in and out. Pulled that connector and tweaked the pins with a small pick and reinstalled. Boom... No more audio issues. 1

They said it was a wire harness connector (and they called it an Ethernet connector) beneath the glove box on the passenger side. The male pins were getting bent by the female receiver and once they replaced the female part, smooth sailing ever since. Hope this helps! Cheers. Edited July 24, 2023 by Spideyjp23

I'm going to give this a shot.
JaneM Posted November 11, 2023 Posted November 11, 2023 We had this problem with our new 2024 GMC Sierra. Just returned from dealership who diagnosed it as a problem with amplifier. Part is on order so hopefully when it’s replaced the problem will be solved.
JaneM Posted December 9, 2023 Posted December 9, 2023 This happened to our new 2024 Sierra. Took it in to dealership. They determined it was a bad amplifier. Part was replaced and everything works now.

No blinker sound, no door chime and no radio. It has been going on for several months, it was just going off every once in awhile and continuously got worse, now it will go off for days at a time then come back in. Makes a popping sound when it goes off and comes back on. Have contacted Chevrolet and have still not got it resolved. My car was just out of warranty when the issue started. I have taken to local Chevrolet dealer for diagnosis, but I really feel like they are just guessing. Saying water is running from HVAC onto module and shorting it out, their fix is diversion of water for a lot of $$$ but who is to say the said module will even last if thats the case and I'm sure it is not a cheap part. Getting very discouraged that Chevrolet won't get to the bottom of this issue and fix the problem. Buying a brand new vehicle, you would expect this would be addressed as I see I am not the only one with this problem. Has anybody gotten it fixed and it stay fixed, I'm not convinced that it isn't a software problem. Hi, our 2018 Equinox LS lost audio a second time, 1/6/2025, last evening. A fix, for the 1st time thru GM tech service & Onstar, was to turn off car & leave door open at least 3 mins. It could be a software bug...but not sure. Last nite wife pulled in garage, left car door open, came in house. Several mins later she started car, radio back on. Why radio went out...dont know. Nobody can answer. Multi million $ company you'd think would know. But at least that 'fix' worked for us. There's about 82,000 miles on it.

Kevin Ball Posted January 15, 2025 Posted January 15, 2025 I have a 2023 Silverado. The sound not working, happens sometimes. Ever since the "Software upgrade" the volume goes FULL VOLUME and I can't turn it down. The steering wheel controls don't work and neither does the dash control. I can't even turn off the radio. I have to stop. Turn the truck off and hope it works when I restart. There is also sometimes problems with the lights not working. I have to turn the truck off and do a restart. Like a computer. I blame the last upgarde.
