Thejet07 Posted October 27, 2020 Posted October 27, 2020 Thanks for all the pointers. Much appreciated Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Thejet07 Posted October 30, 2020 Posted October 30, 2020 How did you guys tie in the reverse wire? Did you run them off the directly of the reverse lights or is there a way to connect it to the harness. My harness comes tomorrow. Super excitedSent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
jnissen Posted October 30, 2020 Posted October 30, 2020 If that harness connects into the 7 pin harness then reverse is included in those pins. I did mine without a harness and tied directly into the 7 pin wiring.
George Zaheu Posted October 30, 2020 Posted October 30, 2020 If we’re talking about the Putco harness, then you don’t have to worry about the 7 pin connector, or tapping into anything else other than where it’s supposed to go. And that is on each side of the truck, where the connector for the tail lights is. Then the harness has a dedicated connector for the backup lights that goes to the wire in the light bar. Simple, really
Thejet07 Posted November 20, 2020 Posted November 20, 2020 Quick question, I think I know the answer but anyway. I installed the tailgate light using the putco harness. My left blinker goes on when I turn on right and same as other side. Is it that the harness needs to be turned around?Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
George Zaheu Posted November 20, 2020 Posted November 20, 2020 (edited) Maybe you just have the light bar itself, installed backwards. It’s pretty common. The connections for the bar are usually on the left, driver’s side of the truck as you look from the rear. That doesn’t exclude that you can’t swap the harness around. Good luck. Thejet07 Posted November 20, 2020 Posted November 20, 2020 I made the connection on the left side. I guess I’ll just swap the harness around Update: I swapped the harness around and all is good. I feel really dumb sometimes Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

REDSLEDZ71 Posted December 26, 2021 Posted December 26, 2021 Hello everyone! I am on my 3rd Sierra and on my third Opt7 sequential tailgate bar. My newest sierra is a 2021 1500 AT4. I am reading the putco harness will plug right in with my Opt7 tailgate bar. Is this true even on the AT4 model? My last 2 I was able to hook into the trailer hook up and now it looks like that is no longer possible. I also have the trailer package. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
Transient Posted December 27, 2021 Posted December 27, 2021 Putco makes the led blade tailgate light I'm using, and it plugged right in under the truck in front of the rear bumper. I know that doesn't completely answer your question, but hopefully it helps.
RedLT Posted January 1, 2022 Posted January 1, 2022 Putco Blade tailgate light bar and the Putco harness works great without using the trailer plug. Perhaps you can modify the Opt7 wires to match Putco harness if it's not a direct fit.
