Thank you sir. I bought the harness you recommended and now it all indeed works! You saved me a lot of grief. Now I’m happy! Thanks a million!

I purchased one of the newer bars that has 4 rows of LEDs. One row is dedicated white for reverse and it’s very bright.

I hard wired into my trailer 7 pin connector under the bumper. Just removed about 1/4” of the insulation away from the wires then soldered in the new wires. Didn’t cut the originals and taped up all the joints to keep it from shorting put. Works great.

Good to know!  I can use some rewards points to knock the price down.

Only question I have is which harness are they including. Is it the quick connect harness (529004) which I have read many people have had good luck with?  Would I still need to purchase that separately for $60?  If so, that would make it much less attractive.

I might shoot them an email to find out.

I have the Redline light bar with the Putco harness. I also purchased the Redline module originally, but it didn’t work with their recommended setup. Neither did their Curt harness. The reason I picked Redline light bar was the sequential amber turn signal and obviously the lower price. Everything from Amazon Putco 529005 Blade Quick Connect. 19 Silverado High Country 6.2 L V8 gas.

George,

Is your truck equipped with the Tow Package/Safety Features package (Blind Spot detection, park assist, etc)? I've got a 2020 GMC Sierra with the Safety Features Package and wanted to know if the Putco harness allows the Redline light bar to work without any towing warnings or prevention of the Safety Features from working.

Thanks for the info!

Yes sir! It works just as it should. Putco harness plugs in between your connectors for each side driver and passenger and the backup wire from your Redline has a socket dedicated on the harness as well. The biggest inconvenience I had was to take the gate off the truck. You’ll have to remove the big socket underneath for the power lift gate and camera, sensors etc. Good luck. Ask for more info if needed

I don’t have the tow package. I’m looking to hardwire an led strip my wife bought me. It has the 4 pin connector but I don’t want to connect that because it’ll look cheesy. Is it just color matching? Any diagrams? I also want to hook up the reverse lights. It has the extra wire for that. Should I just tap that directly to the reverse lights or is there a wire that I could tap in the back of my harness? Thanks

Easiest way to go is to buy this Putco harness we’re talking about from Amazon and you’ll be done in no time. Honest opinion. It takes care of all your concerns click and done.

Just purchased putcos harness. Found it for $51.00. Curious why you took your tailgate off? Was it easier to install the light bar that way?

The reason is, it helps with the alignment of the light bar. Up, down and left, right. It would be too awkward to try to reach under the gate. That’s all.

George,

Was installing the Putco harness difficult? I"m guessing(hoping) the harness comes with installation instructions? Any of the connectors difficult to get to? Any install information/tips greatly appreciated!

The harness does come with two pages of very clear instructions. You should have no trouble at all following them. As I said, it would make your life easier to take the gate off, but if you struggle a little bit I guess it could be done with the gate on. Make sure you clean the surface really good for proper adherence. Good luck. I’m here to help any which way I can.
