I always did put a locking gas cap on my trucks but haven't done this for a long time.  I remember trying to syphon gas out of my truck for the lawn mower many year ago and realized then that gas theft by syphoning is no longer a threat!  A current and real threat is crap being put into your tank.  Thanks for the reminder, and you're right - cheap insurance!

Two neighbors that didn't get along.

One parked on the street.

 He had an engine failure.

To this day I believe it was sugar or ? put in his gas tank by you know who.

only issue I have with it is it doesn’t have the tether so don’t forget to put it back on. 

I was looking for one for my '15, but would NOT settle for one without a tether.  The capless ones supposedly have something in the fill spout to deter siphoning.  But I do NOT like having a capless without a latch/lock on the door.  The other two vehicles, that we have owned with capless fill ports, had door releases inside the vehicles.

I checked and my truck does not have a gas cap locking or otherwise so I do the next best thing and simply lock my truck in the garage when not in use.
