Anyone know the size of the slt premium pkg 20 inch polished wheels center cap size?  I bought the black emblems for front and the back and want to get rid of the red GMC on the wheel center caps, any suggestions vinyl stickers or buy new caps, anyone done this yet? Help

Please post a pic of your current wheels and one close up of the caps. I’m blindly guessing you have one of the two shown below and more than likely the right one (left has a circular machined finish, right is polished):

I personally haven’t seen GMC overlays but that doesn’t mean they don’t exist. Alternatively, you could consider plastidip or painting yourself but as small as that is, I can understand if that’s not an option

 

I know there is a polished cap with a black logo that’s not seen too much or easily found (installed on T1s). My concern is the finish could be much brighter than a typical polished wheel. Here’s an image:

My Denali has polished wheels but came with all chrome center caps. They look OK but I’d prefer the ones above if I was sure they’d match closer to polished brightness versus chrome. Chrome GMC caps:

All 3 should fit. The black & red logo caps come from the same chart number (drawing) so that means the plastic underneath should be the same. Once I see what wheels you have, I can take a look at the drawing for your wheel & see if it matches what the cap maker suggests on theirs if you’d like.

Good luck. I’ve been looking for the same, but Chevy. Tried the chrome ones and they looked terrible and didn’t match the finish of the wheels at all.

Thanks for the pic - that’s the wheel I assumed you had but it’s always safe to double check via pic. I’m pretty sure that black logo GMC cap will fit. Most sites ask around $33 (USD) apiece plus shipping for that cap. I will confirm the wheel/cap dims tomorrow for fit. P/N for cap is 84388427 & my dealership has confirmed it shows up for them.

Those are brushed, need polished with black bow tie to match the OEM wheels.

Haven’t physically seen the polished version with black bowtie but will check the cap drawing I have. If it exists, I’ll send you the P/N which I would encourage you to confirm via your preferred dealer.  Once you confirm the P/N is legit (there could be a typo on a print or the part was just never put into full production) then you could search the parts sites like gmpartsdirect for cheaper prices.

 

I can only check so much, unfortunately.

 

Also, the finish with polished caps can be a bit brighter than the wheels. Polishing isn’t as good for matching as plating, painting or brushed finishes (machined finish). Just the nature of that polishing process.

Those appear to be polished wheels - do you feel that center cap matches the polished wheel or is the cap slightly brighter at all in person?  Just curious. Thanks.

Yeah, thanks, but I personally would want OEM in this case. Just don’t think it exists.

      14-18 Sierra 1500 Heated Steering Wheel Help

      Howdy folks,   Recently I pulled a heated steering wheel and clock spring out of a 2015 Sierra All Terrain (part numbers coming soon - will have to disassemble), and just installed it on my 2016 Sierra WT (as base model as it gets).   On install, I noticed that I’m missing the connector often tucked behind the dash for the heating element.     No problem… or so I thought.   I used an “Add-A-Fuse” at my heated steering wheel fuse location, which has voltage, but no wires. I ran it to the positive of the heated steering wheel (Violet/White), and took black to ground.   Hooked up the battery, turned the truck on - no heated steering wheel. No button backlights. Was pleased to see that my cruise control was working though.   Read a post suggesting reversing polarity, so I gave it a shot. Violet and White to ground, Black to power.    Aha! Heat! But I seemingly can’t turn it off AND still no backlights on any of the buttons.    Checked all fuses, everything is still in good order. I’m stumped.   Does anyone have any insight? If so, please share!

      I'm about 1800 miles into my last oil change, and yesterday a message appeared saying oil life was at 77%. Not sure why it popped up but I think all of these electronics could be susceptible to solar flares or somesuch. I change my oil right at 3K each time, and that was the first time in 10870 miles that message came up. Strange thing is that it showed on the screen at all since I don't drive with that sort of info displayed on the DIC.

      Checked the pads today and there's plenty of meat on them. If the message keeps coming up, I'll just answer YES that the pads were replaced and wait for the squeal.

      Welcome to the Forum! Always post the code definitions along with the codes. there are over 18000 possible codes, no one remembers them all and most will skip over your post rather than look them up
