Hey guys,

I found this thread/forum after a Google search led me here as I was having the same issue.  I signed up so I could reply and tell you what fixed my turn signal issue in hopes that it helps someone else.

Issue:  Both right and left rear turn signal failure notifications on the dash.  Rapid flash after 3 flashes.  All turn signals worked.  My truck is a 2014 Silverado, oem tail lights.

Now let’s back up a little.  A week ago I had and left rear turn signal fail on me.  No big deal right?  I did a Google search for a replacement bulb part number and the results I found were a 7443 bulb.  I picked up a set of 7443 bulbs, replaced the burnt out bulb and all was good (I did not change both sides).  A few days later I get the right and left turn signal failure notification even though both bulbs are working.  After racking my brain for a few days, checking over the wiring harness and the circuit board, I took a closer look at the bulbs.  I found that my OEM bulb was actually a 7444 and Google told me 7443.  The difference in the two bulbs is the voltage/watt draw.  I went to the parts store and bought 4 new 7444 bulbs and replaced the brake light bulbs and the turn signal bulbs.  Doing this resolved my issue.  Changing the brake bulbs was probably unnecessary, but for $8 I went ahead and changed them while I had the tail lights out.  My theory is the Silverado computer freaked out because the left turn signal (7443) and the right turn signal (7444) were pulling different volt/watts causing it to throw the message on both sides.  So if you're having this issue, I would recommend replacing all 4 bulbs with quality 7444 bulbs, especially since it's very possible that you too could have mixed bulbs in the taillights.  This was a $16 fix for me.  I hope this helps anyone else having this issue.

Just replaced all rear bulbs on my 2015 Sierra 2500hd with Sylvania 7444LL. NOW my top right indicator flashes normal then fast with warning on dashboard. Then when I put the left indicator on it does the same but the bottom bulb flashes.  How can this be.   It’s just come from a repaint and it was all fine before it went in.

I have a 2018 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 crew cab LTZ Z 71. All stock.

Had same left turn signal failure alarm and would blink fast after a few seconds. All lights in rear working.

1. Changed bulb-same

2. changed harness-same, did notice one of six pins missing in male plug when plugging in new harness. Didn’t follow this to front.  Not sure how far it goes before next junction.

thanks!

Update the BCM fuse inside the truck passenger side panel. Should be a 20a fuse. That should fix it.

Sorry I'm a bit Kate to this but having the issue on my left side rear, I could do what others said and replace the bulbs all around but I feel like it's a bcm fuse. Do you know if this still applies to it just being the back left? You are the only one rhat brought up the bcm fuse, do you have any more info? 2018 3500hd

I have a problem with my tail lights. I wanted new tail lights so I put in some aftermarket ones in and when I put them in and when to put my turn signal on it said rear tail light failure and same on the other side but the they still work when I turn on the signals they both work. Has anyone came across this problem or have an idea of why it’s happening.

Difficult to diagnose unless you indicate the brand of aftermarket tail lights you installed.
Sometimes, it's just a scan and removal of trouble codes. No guarantees, however.

If anyone else finds these answers... simply hold the Driver's WINDOW-DOWN switch 10-15 sec, then hold WINDOW-UP for another 10-15 sec. You will see "CAL" on the dashboard and all is well again.

The same thing is happening to me.  I replaced the bulb.  That didn’t work. So I am thinking I will replace the connector socket and see if that does the trick.  If not I will replace the rear wiring harness.  It comes as a kit.
