14-18 supercharger gains?

I know there are multiple threads floating around where people have put blowers on their trucks, but wondering if we can consolidate before and after results for those on the fence about going forced induction.  I've seen what the manufacturers state (Maggie claims 05/105, Whipple claims 150/150, etc.) but curious about actual trucks in the real world.

If you've supercharged your 14-18, I'd be REAL curious to know the year, engine, transmission, chosen blower, additional mods (if any) and before and/or after dyno WHP/WTQ figures.  Dyno graphs if you got 'em would be super too!

Thanks!

Seems like you are new to modding cars. Forced induction is simply a means to add power. You can pick whatever power level you want. You just need to have the supporting mods to handle the power without breaking stuff.

Also I really hope that was a typo and your didn’t intentionally spell “gains”!with a Z

replacing S’s with Z’s should be grounds for execution

I've got a pretty fair handle on how forced induction works and how various mods increase performance in unison.

What I'm asking for is first-hand accounts from people who have BTDT, including if their gains came from, say, E85, long tubes, dyno tune and a smaller than standard pulley vs. stock fuel/pulley/blower tune.

My interest is less on all-out top-performance drag vehicles (why you'd do that with an L83, I dunno...) and more daily drivers or at least frequently street-driven vehicles, to include drag pulls or 'truck stuff' like hauling and towing.

A consolidated thread of results might help those of us considering spending the money...

Nope, it was intentional, for attention.  And it seems to have worked...lol

Issue is it is hard to get a apples to apple comparison.
More size, trans, supercharger & charger size, boost, fuel, other mods, then boost amount.

And the tune. Some push things in tune farther then others. I have seen l83 6 speed with whipple make 505hp- 600hp+. And 500-530 on same setup just different tunes.
When you look at chargers look at their displacement.

I understand what you mean but if it was a single cab they make great drag trucks. The record last I saw was 800-850rwhp on a stock short block l83. Truck was a supercharger but only 650ish power so they swapped to larger single turbo for the 850rwhp. But as you would think that is a max effort build meth and fuel system.

E85 is a waste until you have a much larger fuel system.
I have 600rwhp and that is pushing the stock fuel past "safe". If I go e85 I would need more fuel to make same power so at the end of the day I would make less power. So as great as the fuel is it is a down grade. I would need lt4 injectors and hpfp. Then a custom low side pump.

If your looking to buy a roots style supercharger "kit" you are likely looking at a Maggy 2.3L and a Magnussen canned tune. Realistically if all is stock, you will probably gain 70-85hp and similar torque for both the 5.3L and 6.2L. If you go headers, custom tune, water/meth, smaller pulley, air to water cooler, intake, ZR1 injectors, ZR1 fuel pump, E85, then its a can of worms, we cant tell you anything, but probably around 80hp in daily driver set up. Most people running superchargers on here are on built motors which is not easily comparable.

Supercharger is nice small package and easier for your diy. For low power daily driver that does some pulling it is a good option. Cheaper and more power would be turbo. Also you save money. Supercharger around $6k with no tune and no exhaust. Turbo is 3-4k and you need tune and controller. Controller is 30-400.
And forget all that turbo lag talk. We have 6 and 8 speeds and with say 500rwhp and stock stall it is a non issue.
Whipple, magnusson, slp,procharger, ect....

How did you do your turbo for that cheap? Did you make your own exhaust manifolds or buy a kit? I know turbos can be done super cheap if you use Chinese hardware. I am a big fan of Sloppy Mechanics on YT, but I figured for a quality setup you would be at the same or more than a roots blower. I might end up keeping this truck if GM keeps pricing their trucks like 911's.

I was looking into the magnuson kit but decided to pass because of warranty voiding.

On3 kit is 2k cheaper then a supercharger. And on3 has cheap turbos, middle turbos and the high end. But price is still cheap a better turbo is 700-1100.
Comes with all pipes. And you can just plug it into the stock cat back with supplied adapter.
Tune and controller or run on 8lb spring no controller.
Turbo way cheaper. Hardest or scariest part for most is the drill and tap oil pan. They make a oil pump to send oil back to valve covers but that isn't for me.

That depends. But is commonly not the case. Dealers sell new trucks with superchargers on them and full warranty.

True your right but mine is a 18 I guess I would have to do some research and see what they will cover or not cover I guess.

Actually they don’t as far as I know.

They sell them with a powertrain warranty from the supercharger company. Pretty sure the powertrain warranty from GM is voided.

I have turbo and warranty. No company to fall on and local dealer has brand new SUV with calaway 560hp packages. There are notes that can be added to the vin about this. I was asked if I wanted that added to my vin. I said sure.
But again there are huge lifted trucks and bigger tires a dealer also and some people say that isn't warranty or not possible. So some people must just be missing something.
