I have one of those supercharger things you're talking about. My truck goes really fast.

My dyno numbers are that my wife says, "Slow down, do I want to DY? NO!"

Sorry no one gave you any numbers though. I didn't baseline my truck and don't really care to pay for a dyno run after the fact because I've got it running really well now and I just drive it and have fun. In all seriousness, you can get a little or a lot out of ANY SC or turbo you buy. You can leave it conservative and only add 80 hp and tq or turn it up with a smaller pulley (for a SC) and increased timing in the tune and have the boost come on earlier and harder. There isn't a real answer to your question. Not a heck of a lot of guys get before and after dyno logs. I guess the real answer to your question is whatever you want it to be because like I said, you make it add a little power or make it add a lot of power - and that can be done with just the tune alone too.

Also I really hope that was a typo and your didn’t intentionally spell “gains”!with a Z

replacing S’s with Z’s should be grounds for execution

And don't forget that he wrote "sez" instead of "says," too! ?

He's just messing around though. You can tell that he knows how to spell.

I have a 2016 silverado 1500 ltz.

8 speed

Just recently put a whipple on my truck. 4th gen

Nick William's 103mm throttle body.

Also modified airaid cold air.

Borla s-type cat back.

The truck hauls as right now, definitely worth the money.

I ordered KOOKS 1 7/8 headers and high flow green cats.

When I finish the exhaust I am gonna re-tune and dyno the truck.

Whipple is supposed to add 150 hp

Adding the nick William's and straight 4" intake made a bigger difference keeping the whipple tune.

Kooks is gonna take a few weeks to get, I'm having it coated with 2500° coating.

When it's done I can post dyno #'s

Also have grenetilli cold air maf, coil packs and high temp wires

My setup should put me close to 500hp, but gotta spend a shitload of money to get there

Stock silverado 5.3L supposed to be around 300whp.

Alot of people think they need 500 - 600 hp to "feel" the difference.

Stock truck and adding whipple makes a big difference.

I reccomend a cat back to free up the  exhaust flow.

I started with borla cat back, cold air intake and diablo trinity 2 tune.

Made the truck alotta fun...

Would cost around $2000 for that.

When I added a bigger cold air intake grenetilli coil packs, wires, and maf it changed alot.spend 3k and get close,

Otherwise be ready to spend 10k and get the ridiculous power

I’m pulling the trigger on a magnuson kit I already have cat back.

have you tried using the torque app with an ELM obd2, device to see what the ecu says your power level is at?  my stock 5.3 says 320hp using the app.. poor mans dyno.  just an idea..

i have to say after installing a sprintbooster , it really woke up the truck for stop and go city driving.. I see no reason to make a 5500-6000lbs truck go fast other than waste gas and tires.  I would rather build a small truck like an s-10 with a 4.8 and turbo for cheap fun

looks damn good up to 2500, very broad torque, looks like it needs a different drive pulley to get past 4k rpm , they're just keeping the power safe for warrantee

This is a supercharger graph. Not so great when you see is peaks at 4k then dies off. This is 5.3 and 8lb

What is the blue run, same engine/blower but much lower boost?

2 runs, stock is the lower graph, blower is top graph, its a bit confusing with the colors, the torque usually comes in first with a higher number than hp at low rpms, and usually falls off before hp,

could be loosing power past 4k rpm due to the cam is optimized for the stock truck, might be loosing it in the overlap

The 6.2L's usually dyno around +/- 330rwhp. 5.3L more like +/- 290rwhp.

Josh, 500-600hp to feel the difference over 300hp? I can easily tell the difference between my 5.3L and my 6.2L and its only a 65bhp jump. There is no comparison between the two in terms of felt power.

In all honesty, these new LT's aren't great platforms to build on. We are 6 years into them now and they still cant do what the LS did in the aftermarket. Too computerized, too limited by the stock fuel systems. If I was doing a project car/truck, it would 100% be a Gen IV engine not a Gen V.

    • HD at the moment, are kinda their own deal.  How LTZ sells on those vs on 1500, there is a difference.   They are merging most of the mid trims on 1500.  LT, RST and LTZ are replaced by one trim, Silverado.  LT and RST are a BIG portion of sales.    Bad naming choice aside, the new Silverado trim will offer the spread of options that those three trims offered.  So expect to see things like the tech package for example, and maybe memory seats.  And LT Trail Boss will now just be "Trail Boss" (formerly LT Trail Boss) but will offer content spread like the new Silverado trim will.  The press photos showed the Trail Boss (formerly LT Trail Boss) has access to Super Cruise now, which on the current truck was High Country only.
    • I installed a Hellwig rear sway bar on my 21 Sierra SLT, it made a huge difference on how the truck handles, no body roll, the trucks much more planted now. Not sure of the suspension differences between the 21 and 26,  if its body roll your having a sway bar will solve it.
    • So a follow up and my fix. I found in online searches the live data to look at on a scan tool to verify the fuel tank pressure sensor was working.  It showed an spec number towards the lower end of the rang, but in spec.  Then while it was running opened the gas cap and the pressure should change.  It didn't change even a tiny bit.  The data for the purge valve said it was open...never changed. So then I measured the voltages on the plug for the fuel pressure sensor and they matched what it should be.  So local car quest parts had the sensor in stock...it was a bit of a pain to remove and an even bigger one to get it to actually go back in.  It helped to unbolt the driveshaft and bungie cord away from the gas tank to give a bit more room to work. So fuel tank pressure sensor in I cleared the code, and started it up.  I went to the scan tool's live data and... Eureka! The pressure number was different and fluctuated a bit.  So took it on a short drive and pressure number varied saw the purge valve go from closed to open and back to closed.  Drove it to and from work for roughly a week plugged in the scan tool no codes.  I took it in to get tested and passed.  In my state's infinite wisdom (oops meant greed), since I pushed the test with the maximum extensions I have to take it back in by Feb '27 to 'get it back up to date', then my next test won't be until Feb '29.
    • Any grease on the stud threads of any kind?   Wheel studs should have NOTHING on them for proper torquing and so the nuts don't back off.     Are all of the mating surfaces clean?  So wheel, rotor and hub?     We've had plenty of trucks at work with that wheel, this is a first to me.  Makes me think they've got a lube tech putting anti-seize on all the wheel studs or some kind of grease, and they need to stop doing that.  To have 11 other trucks with the same exact problem.
    • I was a Chevy guy for years, then switched to GMC because I liked the looks better.  I'm actually thinking I like the Chevy looks better than GMC for the first time in a lot of years.   One thing I know for certain, the new GMC dash is hideous!  Chevy wins this one!
