Well damn, came here looking for actual data but got nothing but useless jibberish from people that like to type. Yay derailed threads.

What do you want cam. L83 on 8psi whipple 520rwhp. Heads fuel cam and exhaust 640. I can post videos also. But the untold story is it was horrible and teuck was scraped and parted out months later. Doesn't stop the website from pushing his truck as a "package"

Well, this is a stupid thread and you definitely should have not expected to find any useful information.

Asking how much hp a supercharger makes is like asking how much hp nitrous makes. You can make whatever the hell you want. It’s more complicated than that and anybody that knew a lick of information about the internal combustion engine would not be asking it.

I’m guessing the members on this forum will start to degrade the further the k2xx depreciates.

Gonna have to upgrade to the t1xx if more people start replacing S with Z

I’ve done mild to wild over the years. A simple Vortec with 5LBs of boost to my current 12LBs with supporting mods. I didn’t or don’t have reliability issues either way. We did our share of diesel too. I never worried or needed to worry about warranty on those.

E85 is a waste until you have a much larger fuel system.
I have 600rwhp and that is pushing the stock fuel past "safe". If I go e85 I would need more fuel to make same power so at the end of the day I would make less power. So as great as the fuel is it is a down grade. I would need lt4 injectors and hpfp. Then a custom low side pump.

why do you talk to everyone on here like they’re dumb?  You and grumpy both do it all the time. E85 is not a downgrade even with the stock fuel system. Any person in their right mind that is going FI and wants to run E85 will run the supporting fuel system upgrades needed to make it work along with a dedicated E85 tune. The guy mentioned it as a supporting mod to FI and you go off at the mouth about how E85 is useless because YOU aren’t running it or simply haven’t dropped the coin to get the parts you need to run it. We don’t care what YOU would need to make it work. The guy asked if anyone has it then mention it. He didn’t ask for a science lesson from you.

I have turbo and warranty. No company to fall on and local dealer has brand new SUV with calaway 560hp packages. There are notes that can be added to the vin about this. I was asked if I wanted that added to my vin. I said sure.
But again there are huge lifted trucks and bigger tires a dealer also and some people say that isn't warranty or not possible. So some people must just be missing something.

No you don’t. There is no way you got some thrown together On3 turbo kit and a warranty from GM. Wait let me rephrase that. You might have a warranty and GM simply hasn’t found out you slapped on a turbo. Callaway is associated with GM. You can buy a Callaway kit directly from GM and of course they’ll warranty it because GM installed everything. It’s like buying a Saleen from Ford. If you get a lifted truck on 35’s from the dealer it’s warrantied because they installed it.

anything you throw on after the fact in your garage will not be warrantied.

Anytime Slow1500 starts getting worked up you can count on the thread going south. There are a handful of guys in here that recently strapped blowers on and got dyno numbers.  There’s a couple of Callaway trucks in here to. Maybe they’ll login and post up and give the OP what he’s looking for.

It’s not a stupid thread. Just about every automobile forum (at least performance oriented automobile) usually has a section or sticky where people have posted their mods and associated dyno numbers. Gives folks a great idea of where they might be at if modding their cars with similar parts.

since nobody mods their Silverados with anything more than the usual 3 bolt ons there really isn’t a need for a thread like that but it still doesn’t hurt to ask the precious few that have gone wild

Ok I'm all ears. You tell us your combo and e85 tune and fuel system...... also I would like more info on the aftermarket to gm support coverage. Maybe I'm missing something.
I do have warranty. I have gone to dealer and never one issue. It is noted on my work order also. So I think they know.
I will agree I did assume he didn't want to drop the coin to get into the fuel system but if he does then no problem he can ask and I can respond to that. I respond on 3 sites and 2 groups. Also have a busy life so I miss type and try to hit points quick.
If you would like we can go part for part with numbers tune and logs but doesn't seem this forum is not so much into that.
Any shop you call is going to ask basics and let you know the limit on block and fuel. IF customer requests more we can go there.
Some people know little others know what others don't. Best not to assume...
Lastly if you have a issue with my post, kindly don't read them. That is better then highjacking the thread or being rude.

i'm very much into part numbers , and tune files, please post em if you got em.
This is a distraction from OP. But do you know you can read a tune and ballpark the horsepower and torque based on the fuel and torque management. I have dozens of supercharger files a few NA and few turbo.

In regards to the warranty

this is what for example happens when you buy a callaway at a dealership

https://www.callawaycars.com/homepage/cars/callaway-c19-sporttruck/

They provide their own warranty the powertrain. It is not a gm warranty. GM still provides the bumper to bumper, but not the powertrain.

Pretty much all dealership modified cars are like this. The dealer can probably fudge a lot of stuff as being unmodified. But if you have a supercharger with an aftermarket tune, and the dealer has to send gm the ecu/tcu data, gm will not cover it and it is up to the dealer or the company that provided the supercharger.

this is how it is for all brands as far as I know. Some aftermarket companies are much better than others of course at honoring the warranty.

I'm thinking of ordering the STS kit for my 2012 2500 GMC, to serve as my test bed before going any further into the newer k2 truck. I figure STS has the proper files to install in the ecu for this truck. after looking at the whole set up I think a Vortec S/C is an easier way to go for the K2, less piping work. and more reliable in terms of stout design.

I would go supercharger in that case. Good luck with tune.

Well so much for a tongue-in-cheek titled post looking for ACTUAL data from ACTUAL people who have supercharged their trucks to help provide insight to people ACTUALLY looking to spend $6-10k on improving their truck's performance...back to your normal "what size tire will fit with what size level" posts...

do you know why the vortec kit sells their system with a fuel pump booster? what is that all about, why not just offer a fuel pump upgrade. I know the edelbrock system does away with the fuel pump booster, in favor of a proper fuel pump.

do you have any GM part numbers for upgrading the my 2012  2500 GMC  in tank pump?

    • Late reply, but yes—it works on the SLT trim. Compatibility comes down to the plastic shroud shape behind your mirror, not the trim badge itself. On the SLT with auto-dimming, it uses a plug-and-play Y-harness off the mirror/rain sensor power, so no need to run wires down to the OBD port. If anyone's ever unsure about fitment, just drop a photo of your mirror housing and we can double-check it.   Appreciate the detailed feedback on the install! On the windshield glare—we actually took feedback like yours and developed a dedicated CPL (polarizer) filter to cut down dash reflections on sunny days. If you're still running the cam, shoot me a DM. I'd be happy to send a CPL filter over for you to test out—no charge.
    • There are no stickers in your glovebox?
    • Look at the numbers on the stickers in the door jam...
    • Yes, every time the developer updates his code, you must recompile. I will private message you with the latest because it changes pretty much with every version.
    • After I wrote that reply I went for a ride. 85 F out. So trans started at 85 F and it shifted the same as it did an hour latter at 168 F. I've never actually recorded the to cold to shift point but it is under 32 F before they start hanging on to a lower gear or leaving the converter unlocked. Both intended to heat fluid.    Yes, brake or bake. Absolutely.      Your welcome. True research ended decades ago. Field trials are still in play.    There is a thing called oxidation onset temperature. This is the heat related oxidation not the O2 exposure kind. For mineral oil that starts at 140 F. So what happens after 140 F? Each 20 F cuts fluid life in half! Does using a Full Synthetic improve that? Yes! By how much? Depends on the base oil type and a few other factors. But enough to notice. Some esters are even higher. There are even synergies between types the will raise it higher than any one component is alone.    Then there is "Hindered" oils. Antioxidant additives. Hindered Polyol Esters can sit at 500 F for years in a turbine.   When a blender brags his oil will 'take 500 F" in service he doesn't specify for how long. Water will dance on a 500 F hot plate for several seconds. @newdude put up a chart showing the relationship between fluid temperature and it's life in an automatic transmission. Here's a version of that chart for Group III based oils. These temperatures are those in the pan as observed as 'normal'. that is you drive as you do for as long as you do under what load you ask of it and whatever that temperature is this graph applies to. Flash temperatures of a few minutes isn't what his means.    Note that fluids held at a constant 240 F have a service life of only 20K miles. 220 F explains the factory exchange limit, eh? My equipment I keep under 180 F and I'm good if the cooler will hold it as low as 140 F. But that's me.
