Finally got my rattle fixed. Took it in yesterday, and they said they couldn't hear it. I took 2 techs on ride and pointed it out multiple times. They took it back into the shop and proceeded to take a part the console and dash parts test driving several times and isolating the noise. Turns out it was a missing retainer in part of the ventilation system behind the dash. I picked it up today, and it's like a totally different vehicle, quiet at all speeds and road surfaces.

I just got my new 2022 Silverado 3500HD with the 6.6L Gas motor. I have the clunking in the steering wheel since day one with 7 miles on the truck. You can only here it when going over rough ground/off-road. Normal highway driving you dont hear it. Took it to the dealer with 240 miles on the truck and 'they couldnt reproduce' the issue so they did nothing. I found this thread while they had it at the shop and i called them and told them to look at the upper intermediate steering shaft....They checked the entire front-end and the shaft and said everything was perfect and up to spec. They drove it multiple times and said they can find anything...

When i look up the latest part number in this thread, 84488136, it says it doesnt fit my truck. I looked at the part number of the shaft that is currently on the truck and its 85126059. I can hear/feel the clunking in the steering wheel. Any updates on the latest GM part?

Is anyone else having still seeing issues with a newer build 2021? I have a 2021 2500 SLE with a build date of mid-March and mine is like a constant road noise rattle from the steering column area. It isn't the clunk that others are talking about but more of a vibration rattle whether turning or going straight down the road, fairly smooth road or potholes I hear it from 5 MPH to about 45-50 MPH. It doesn't go away at 50 but is drowned out by wind/road noise. I looked under the dash and questioned whether it may be the e-brake cable or something else rattling against something else but it sounds higher. I'll try zip tying it out of the way a little to see if that helps, just wondering if anyone else is seeing the same thing.

I have a 2022 2500 LT gasser and i have this same issue from day one. It feels like something is rattling against the steering column.

Were you able to isolate it to the parking brake cable? I see someone else mentioned a "heater hose isolation fix" so wondering if that might be it too.
