So...

Finishing up my Flowmaster super 40 series should I have my flapper open (will it give more sound) and if I should how would I go about keeping it open. Thanks

I assume you are speaking of the stock cutout. If so watch it. See if it opens. In my option it was a after thought and needs to go in favor of a good exhaust.

If you have AFM still active, I'd leave it alone as its supposed to cut on V4 noise.  If you want it open, you need a 1/4x20 bolt that is 2 inches long and a nut.  This will only work if you have the original valve with the square "weight" on the end of it.  You rotate the valve counterclockwise and stick the bolt through it at the bottom.

My 2 cents, just 3 words:

CHOP

IT

OFF

Leaving it either open or sprung, ruins the exhaust tone. And get rid of the AFM too

IF you run V4 mode and plan to, leave it OR you will get the Chopper noise when it kick into V4 mode. Especially with a loud muffler.

IF you want to disable V4 and never go back to using it then chop it off.

I got rid of mine but then after a while i went back to V4 and noise was annoying as heck. Then i went back to stock exhaust. Nice and quiet and little better MPG again.

I had my fun with muffler change, im sticking to stock tone.
