Hey guys, just picked up a 18 Silverado LT. my model didn’t come with fog lights, usually a huge thing for me but couldn’t pass up the deal. I purchased a new bumper with fog like inserts and fogs.. but I can’t for the life of me find brackets to mount the fogs to the new bumper. I see one for the passenger side bracket but nothing for drivers side! Any info at this point will help! Thanks!

Okay, I found the brackets, but they seem to be the same thing as the brackets without fogs? Anyone know what the difference is and do I need the brackets “with fog lights”?

I really hate to be the bearer of bad news..

I was in your EXACT situation a few months ago. I bought a 2016 LT without fog lights because it was a killer deal. I thought oh well, I'll just pick up a new OEM bumper with fog lights and add them later on..

Well, after I had bought all of the necessary parts I started doing some reading of threads in which other people on here tried doing the exact same thing, but ultimately could not get it done because dealers are unable to flash the BCM to allow the fogs to work. Even with all of the correct parts.

I promptly called my local dealer and they assured me that it would be no problem and that they could install them. Long story short and much frustration later.. the dealer ended up being wrong and they could not flash the BCM and there was some kind of complication with the fog light wiring to the fuse box. I ended up getting stuck with a bunch of parts that took months to sell off unfortunately.

Ultimately I ended up trading it in for a loaded 2018 Z71 a couple months ago that has fogs. I know some people couldn't care less if they had them, but for me they're a necessity. Your only options are to either settle for aftermarket fogs with an aftermarket switch or having your BCM custom flashed and doing some custom electrical/wiring work yourself. Not sure if the latter option causes any sort of warrant complications.

I wish I was wrong, but unfortunately it is what it is man..

I did this mod on my 2017 WT. I used factory parts. There is a work around for the power and it is very simple. I will post the link in a bit. You can also get your BCM programmed from WAMS pretty reasonable.

2016 Suburban LT Fog Lamps install with OEM switch. Put this in GOOGLE and this article will show step by step how to do the fog lights.

doesn't tinkeringfox have a youtube video where he does something similar to this with the overhead cab lights?  (required running a couple wires to and back from the BCM connector where it would normally be included.. )

Thanks for the response! I’m using after market fogs with a switch so that shouldn’t be a problem. I just bought a bumper face bar with the opening for fogs, not the whole bumper, so I’m not sure if the inners of my bumper where the  face bar goes onto will have a spot to screw my fogs into.

Did you just get a new bumper face with holes for fogs?
