I got some general grabbers mounted up last night. Based on all of the questions here about what size tire will or will not fit on these trucks I thought I would post these pictures. I am super thrilled with the way that it looks, not sure if the pictures will do it justice.  The truck is completely stock besides the tires and they fit fine, no rubbing at all.

I was wondering if they would fit true 35s. The KOA2s that are 35x12.50x20 are actually 34.5” in diameter. Whereas the stock tires on these trucks are 34.1” so I knew I could get the KOA2s on there. Some 35x12.50x20 are actually closer to 35”, like my Toyo RTs on my old truck were 34.8”.

I looked up this tire and it’s a true 35” diameter. So no rub even with the wheel fully locked in reverse? That’s sweet!! I’ve been considering the swap to better winter tire that can tow.

They still look small/thin, I just don't understand the 20 inch wheel craze.

Also what is with all the need for a "true" 35 inch tire? No one can tell the difference between a 34.5 and 35... That is a lot of wasted money for a 1/4 inch in height or just to say you have a "35". My tires are 32.8, if someone ever asks (which has only been a handful of time and usually when asking about a trail I am going on) I just say a 33.

...so back on topic, no they do not rub at all. The height is only about .75” taller, the bigger difference is in width. I feel like the stock tires barely wraparound the face of the wheel where these are much more what I would expect being wider than the wheel.

Tyler - the point of understanding the true size is to understand how big a diameter you can go before rubbing with stock suspension. Yeah, they’re 35s, not questioning that. Trying to understand is 35”’exactly rubbing versus 34.5” versus 34.1” etc. as I’m not looking to cut my truck up.

I’ve done all the customizing in the past. Last truck had $10k in aftermarket. Not looking to do all that just yet to the new one.

I used 295/65-20 because I tow, 35's dont have the load rating that the 295's have.

My 295's are rated 4080# each, and are a 35.1" tire

Whole thing is though your only going from a 34.1” to a 35 not much change but cool bolt on.
I’m putting 37x12.50x20’a using stk wheels on my 20 at4 Duramax

2””’zone levelling kit n a little real  careful trimming n should b good

It's not necessarily true that 35's will fit all the time though.  These rims must be 20x9 - with relatively little offset.  I have 20x10 with 35x12.5's on mine and trimming was required even with the 3" suspension lift.  Had to trim the from anyway after putting the new bumper on - sits higher in the wheel well

Planning on a bumper build anyway. Is the forward end of the front wheel well, where trimming is usually needed? Planning on only staying in the 35 range for towing anyway, but not crazy about the stuffed look. Thinking about going with cooper's again.

I went with 35x12.50x20 on OEM rims after seeing this thread originally.   I bought the oem black option rims and put KO2s on them.  I don’t like the sticking out look many folks like and didn’t find aftermarket with oem offset.  Truck is stock 3500 with nothing done to bars.  You can see in pics they fit perfect and look like they belong IMO.  I have about 1000 miles on them.  Love the ride too.  793FA43E-7417-4C79-96A6-B3736BB9ACAF.jpeg.071580b472d858b252f2aff792852f7a.jpegB34F71D6-AF8A-439C-B03D-5BED5814EBD4.jpeg.aa9d1e07141c2fec434ca08bc47e5698.jpegF434F8FB-0EE5-42EC-8A06-6491BAC5D7E2.jpeg.5f684ed3daa3f95839d8e0a998935663.jpeg98E67864-3CBC-43D2-A494-7101DEEA51C9.jpeg.8817e5744821c90e3978a9535010a79e.jpegF92B0FBF-7716-488D-99ED-8ED98DF1CA09.jpeg.ee993ade3536ec1d039a2e2b32faca4b.jpeg

Did you crank the torsion keys to get them to fit?

That is exactly what I want to do as soon as I get mine.  Those wheels are expensive but damn are they sexy.
