The pic appears to be the the 4" tube step, not the sport step the OP asked about.  

 

(does looks like it might be the same as the tube-type one that GM offers)

How much grip do they have in the rain/snow? they look very slippery. wonder if line-x would solve that

They do look nice. I wanted them but had concerns for my children’s tiny feet.

My 3 year old girl uses them just fine.
