Whenever having issues with charge pipe connections, it’s usually not the pressure that does it. It’s the fact that your engine moves a lot and the pipe doesn’t.

So just imagine the engine moving around side to side a lot under throttle, and then follow your charge pipe and see where it’s connected to the truck. A lot of times the path won’t allow for much movement at all so naturally the thing that gives is the weakest link, the charge pipe connector.

are you getting any strange surging at cruise speeds not in boost, or any other issues?
Any major back pressure should be resolved from the bypass.

strangely enough truck still ran ok and didnt throw DTC only pulling air in from pre inlet tube of IC

and having a high speed leaf blower from my undercarriage pulling into jobsite looked like a blackhawk landing in iraq with all the dust being airborne good thing i dont live in cali anymore

truckguy82 you think i should readjust the clocking of the piping it does seem to fit close to frame rail?

Yeah anywhere the charge pipe is connected to or touching a part of the truck that doesn’t move with the engine. Make sure it has some wiggle room. Or you might need to cut it and put in another flexible joint.

figure if your engine moves 2 inches in one direction, the more flexible the overall pipe is the less likely a connection is to fail

you could take your hood off and do a 4wd launch, that’ll really show you how the engine moves under load and be easier to visualize where the charge pipe might fail.

An awd launch in a supercharged 6.2 isn’t fun?

that’s like one of the most fun things you can do in any vehicle. Fast trucks are an absolute riot in a straight line since it feels so unnatural and brutal. I’ve had fast cars as well. And a 12.0 Full size truck is more fun then high 10’s in a car that was designed for it.
