Ditto on sticking with the 2019.  Having the newest and latest isn't always the greatest.  In fact 9 times out of ten it isn't.

When it comes to cars sometimes you are right.  But in general 9 out of 10 times just isnt true.

With that said short of the 10 speed tranny and some electronic gimmicks and styling the 22/23 HD is basically no different than trucks from 5 years ago.

How do I get paid to lie and say the 10 speed out performs the 6 speed?
Facts, if you pull a big camper or loads 15000lb or better you will be disappointed with the stock Ford copied 10 speed if you had a real Allison 6 speed.

Fact, you will blow through the converter on any grade.
Fact the lockup doesn’t work effectively to use the torque of the l5p.
Fact, you will feel like you are pulling with a mid 90’s gasser downshifting and popping off the rev limiter.

Fact,  I disagree with most of what you've said.

Heck in the 6.6 gas 6spd, ID just be happy with a choice of 3:73/4:11/4:56. Gears as a ordering option. ( Ford does it) Other than that I see no problem with a gasser 6.6  6 SPD .it's a tried and trued tranny. My ultimate goal would be 4:88s a Magnuson tvs 2650, bigger injectors/ fuel pump and long tube headers. But tunning seems to be the hold up at the moment.

My father had a 2015 GMC duramax diesel and it was fantastic on fuel economy.   So I went and bought a 2017 chevrolet 2500hd diesel with new L5p motor and 6speed transmission.   It was a pig on fuel compared to the 2015.  Then my 2017 got better fuel economy after 50,000 km.  My dad bought a 2018 and he was disappointed that it wasn't as good has his 2015.  Now I have a 2022 Gmc 2500hd.  I hate it for pulling.  It's a worst then my other truck.  I pull a 33 foot fifthwheel and my dad pulls a 36 ft.  His 6 speed is better at the pump then my 10 speed.  Always cheaper by 4$ and in the NewBrunswick canada hills we were almost 20$ difference.  He's about 16 to 20 L/100.  My average is 20 to 25.

If we don't pull trailers,  he is still getting better then me.  I presently have 53,000km on my 2022,  he's got 63000km on his 2018.  Everytime I go up a small hill, my truck kicks a gear.  His 2018 just purs along.   I understand your trying to make changes but the fuel /$ at the pump doesn't lie.

GM,  start listening to the people who drive these trucks.  Go back to the 3.73 rear end with 6 speed..   and whatever engine you had in that 2015 year model.  That was a great engine on fuel as well..

Not sure if I want to buy a new model when I hit the 100k mark.  You guys need to get this truck to be easier on fuel them your previous models.

I have a 2019 3500hd diesel LTZ and also a 2021 GMC AT4 HD diesel.  We like the 6 speed ALOT better.  Side by side the 2019 will smoke the 2021. The 10 speed seems to always be in torque management and always trying to shift. The six speed puts you back in the seat and it feels like you’re in a slingshot. Our camper weighs 14,000 pounds and we still like the power of the 2019 better. I even pulled McDonald pass at full throttle with no problems. We actually took the 2019 on our trip from Montana all the way down to South Dakota and back up around. Couple thousand miles and we chose the 2019 because it pulls better. I can imagine the 10 speed would be better if we were towing more weight and it could stretch the gears out a little bit further. So I guess I should revise my statement, to say that we like the six speed for towing loads that are 14,000 pounds or less. The 10 speed also has some problem with the valve body and we just got a factory recall.

I had a 17’ Denali L5p and the 6 speed had a downshift shudder when slowing to a stop. I now have a24 Denali Ultimate with the L5p and 10 speed and it is smooth as silk. Always where it needs to be.

Must be a diesel thing. My L8T/10spd rarely hunts gears, a lot of times if it wasn't for the change in exhaust tone I wouldn't know it even shifted.

Only thing I really noticed was a rough shift here and there in the first couple thousand miles as it learned. I'd say it's learned quite well, I have a blast driving it, keeps the ole "six six" gas in its torque range. I recently had to drive my wifes Tahoe (good ole 4L60E) and was almost disgusted with how it drove.

Love the 10 speed with 6.6 gas towing 6500#. Best vehicle I have ever towed with.

I haven't towed a thing yet with my 2024   2500 HD .  6.6 gas  10 speed and only have less than 3000 Klm on it but it shifts smooth as silk . So far I love this truck . Except for the condensation behind the headlight lens on both sides . I started a thread on it
