I have a 2022 Silverado RST bad module and only 8k miles. Part is on back order nation wide! Dealer saying 2/3 weeks. I need to get compensated for this bullshit. 60k piece of ******. I should have kept my 2013 GMC Yukon with 140k miles and never been in the shop. 😡

I have a 2023 AT4X 6.2L.  At 2750 miles the fuel pump went bad. Motor went into limp mode with reduced acceleration. Took my dealer a week to even get to it. Found out the fuel pump was shot, trailer break controller was bad along with 13 codes thrown. Truck has now been at the shop for 4 weeks (both parts were backordered) plus the week it took to get it on the schedule, so 5 weeks total to date. Had to insist they rent me a truck. Hopefully this is the last time its in the shop for anything major. Pretty ridiculous to see that similar issues have been going on for years over multiple model changes. Get you ****** together GMC! You're certainly charging premium dollar to us, the product should reflect your sticker.

I have a 2022 Silverado and got stuck in remote area. Starter works no turn over threw a code p129f fuel module. So now 3 days later truck still broke down in remote area. Trying to get a wrecker to it.  This is unsatisfactory and Chevy should have replaced them before it went bad. Vehicle still under full warranty. The cost is the towing at this point. Hope insurance and Chevy warranty helps out.

I have a 2020 Sierra AT4 and having codes p0499 & PO488.  Does anyone know where the location of the fuel pump control module is.   There is not a lot of good information that I have found so far as to location and replacing.  Frustrating is an understatement.  Thank you for any help!

I'm not a member here but I do  have a 2020 sierra with 75,000 miles on it and my fuel pump control module is going out. There is a federally mandated emissions warranty on them for 8 years or 80,000 miles. I am having mine replace at the dealership under warranty. The dealer should inform you of this. If you have had it done you should be eligible for reimbursement. I just learned this with mine. Check into it.

2019 LT w/only 31K.  Would hesitate sporadically and a couple of hard jerks but didn't think too much of it.  Was going down the road doing 55-60 and suddenly hard jerked and check engine light showing "no fuel".  I barely made it into a park.  Had it towed and sure enough the mechanic had to replace the fuel gas module.  I am at a loss that this issue is widely known and yet we pay good money on a truck that GM knows there is an issue.  Of course my 3 years is up but my mileage would have been under warranty.  May look into an F150 next time.

Is there something I can do to avoid this failure?  Is it the luck of the draw manufacturing defect?

No nothing you can do to avoid this failure. Fuel pumps and modules have been going out since cars were first invented.

I had a P0499/498 and took it to the dealer. I ask about the Emission warranty until 83k as shown on my owners portal and the dealer advisor told me it only covered the catalytic converter and PCM in Georgia.. cost me 665.00 to get it replaced for the fuel pump control module.. so how did the gentlemen in the earlier comment have his covered? Gongrats to you mate. My truck is a 2019 LT trailboss with 55,700 miles on it. Really like this truck but its about one more check engine light from getting traded for a Ram Rebel... 7 times to the shop in 55K about had it.

23 5.3 1500 LTZ with 16k miles.

I’m fairly certain the same problem.

We were on the way to lunch and going through an intersection when the engine cut. It wouldn’t fire up; just turned over and over.

Called a tow truck and had it dropped at Chevy.

2023 Sierra SLT 5.3 with 11k miles (at the time).

About 2 months ago, my truck suddenly would not start one morning, and I'm still under factory warranty. OnStar authorized tow delivered it to the dealer. Cause was a failed fuel pump power control module. This may, or may not, be the same as the fuel pump issue the original poster mentioned.

Here is the info from my service record if it helps.

Campaign: 24-NA-139

Service finding: code U18A2, loss of communication with fuel pump driver control module

Part replaced: 13554821

Just got my truck back; was same thing. Fuel pump control module was shot. They had them in stock; took a day to fix.

    • On 2021 3500hd it consistently sets automatically when selecting park if the incline/decline is above a certain angle.
    • Curious, did anyone ever get a fix for the vibration reported here.   I have a 2024 Silverado with 6.6 duramax.   I’m noting the same vibration resonating up through the steering shaft into the steering wheel.    Best way to describe- like someone is tapping on the steering shaft/components and it’s resonating into the steering wheel.    thanks.
    • Hi friends - first time poster. I have a 2015 sierra Denali with 150k miles, I’m the second owner and she’s given me 75k of great service. I run a pulse AFM disable device. Starting Thursday when I exited the freeway after a short local ride it started idling rough, with an obvious misfire shake and was down on low end power.  I got it home and hooked it up to my scannner and found no codes but in live data a pretty bad misfire on cylinder 5. I replaced the coil, plug and wire with all new OE replacements (Delphi gn10165 coil, acdelco wire and 41-168 plug). It’s still behaving the same way after firing the parts cannon at it.   I know cyl 5 is a non AFM cylinder so I am not thinking this is AFM related but I’m kinda at a loss. injector? Bent pushrod? It’s running too well over 1k rpm to suggest those IMO. Has anyone chase this issue before and what was it? Any suggestions?
    • 2017 Silverado L83 5.3l 6speed transmission Hello, not a new member but havent posted in a while and my old signup info isnt working so had to create a new account. anyways, I have an issue with my truck and hope someone can spread some light on whats happening: -when it goes to 4cyl mode it makes a clunk sound (but not when coasting or going downhill) -when in 4 cyl mode and under load it makes a load pulsating sound (not a tick). -goes away completely when in M5 gear or when plugging in an AFM delete. Im guessing it is one of 2 things but im not convinced of either to be honest. 1. lifter stuck in v8 mode 2. torque converter shudder realistically it doesn't seem like the TC as there is no physical vibration , and it never happens in v8 mode. but maybe? and wouldnt a lifter make a sound whether with load or not? any ideas let me know please. thank you!
    • Which has made me wonder with the various engine failures of a few brands in the last few years, is it sub par materials such as lifters etc causing failures, or bearing clearances on the crank etc or perhaps bad designing of an engine physically or causing too much load on the components due to the hp/torque they can push out of them. Or is the oil viscosity and additive package of current oils or a lack of oil flow by an oil pump not able to supply sufficient oil at idle or under high load at low rpm. Or is it every item I listed that combined together has pushed the limits so far to the left that there is hardly a margin of safety left and add in some fuel dilution and too long of an OCI and premature engine failure is the result ?.
