Anyone make 17" steel dog dish rims?

Id love to put a set of the old steelies with the dog dish nubs on them to put the 70's silverado dog dish caps on but coming up empty on that front. Ive heard 17" is the smallest rim that will clear our brakes is that correct?

Something like the crude  look below.

 

Or paint em white with those hubcaps would look good too

I love that look. Especially the police size hub caps with trim rings. If you find a source PM me. Please.

Have you tried to email any of the wheel manufactures to see if they have or know of a source?

yea thats the usual route they go for the retro look and it looks good - (fyi the 80's 6 lug centercaps fit - will have to drill and tap 3 mounting holes tho) but i want those dog dish hubcaps on there.

those are the camaro rallaye style that do not accept the dog dishes I pictured above.

I'm also interested.  I looked for the same setup a few years ago  without success.  Nothing like a shiny new set of hubcaps to spruce up your ride!

DO you know of any? i know of wheel vintiques but they dont offer that style of rim needed in 6x5.5 bolt pattern and doesnt look like they can with the stamping design..

yea its gotta have those 3-4 external nubs to mount the dog dish to snap onto.

i think those are made by wheel vintiques if im not mistaken. I dont mind the look but looks funny on a truck to me for some reason. On a modern camaro wouldnt look bad.

 

I just sent a contact us form to WheelVintiques to see what they can do if they are willing to do anything stating that if they made a steel wheel matching the OEM work truck steel rims they would have an aftermarket wheel that would fit silverados and sierras of the last 40 years not to mention trailers and vans. Maybe they will say somethign good?

If price ain’t a issue I’d call & talk to Detriot Steel & see what they can make for you.
 

My understanding from the guy’s with the classic Lincolns & C10s is they aren’t cheap but they are good.
 

Also check out US wheel I know the make 17” smooth steelies popular with the classic Camaro guys. Don’t know if the offer them in 6 lug but have seen  them in 8 lug.  www.uswheel.com
