Eibachs Arrived

The Eibachs have arrived (almost 2 weeks), but I'm still waiting on the RC 2" rear blocks and bolts which should be here Friday.  I'll document the install and post photos after I complete the install this coming weekend.  I know quite a few people have questioned the actual install height with the shocks, vs springs, vs shocks and springs combo, so I'll photograph the install sheet that has those dimensions soon and post them here as well.

Here are the approximated lift heights for the Eibach system when used with Eibach springs vs OE springs.  Please read the highlighted area to distinguish the two documents.

jeez, lol.... its says so right in instructions.....you know many dudes started threads arguing that you only get 1.2 of lift with or without std springs  even though members who actually installed kit and told them the amt of lift they got....but it conflicted with the way they read the instructions.....and they just couldn't wrap their head around it, lol

too funny

the trippy thing is Eibach doesn't seem to mind you using all of clips with OEM spring but shy away from top 2 with their spring....or at least the top clip for sure and give notes on second one down

good info for those going forward

if I was keeping mine this is kit I would get for sure, plus they are 20 min down the fwy

hope you like it man!

I went with icon front coil overs because I wanted more than 1.9 with their springs or 2-2.5 with stock springs. I’ll get it set at 2.5” and throw a 2.25” block with fabtechs stealth shocks. Won’t hurt the ride like setting Eibach’s at the top will. I’ll be picking it up Thursday. Btw I understood the Instructions, I got hung up on Eibach’s website filters. It’s effed up. I even called and they never responded with why their website is retarded. Anyways, it looks like a solid kit, I just wanted more than 2” for it to be worth it. Let us know when it’s all done

Will do.

I guess I'm different than most on here seeing how I don't want much more than 2" of lift, then again I sometimes don't even want that much when I get to thinking about it.  I really just want a better handling suspension with a just a tad more more ground clearance and this kit fit the bill.

Good luck on your Icon kit and let us know how it handles once you get it installed.

Im over 1.9” with the Eibach springs/struts on 3rd clip, just saying.

How is the handling on the 3rd clip?

Amazing. No more nose dive when braking, much more planted in the corners, and the bounce is gone. The ride is firmer then stock but I don’t mind it.

That's the kind of information that t I'm looking for, but I was hesitant to go to the third notch because I haven't heard the side affects of doing so from anybody.  Compared to my F250, this truck rolls, sways, dives, and bounces way to much for my liking and I wanted a much more planted feel.  Thanks for the information!

So I'm torn on what to do. My rake is 1.5, and mistakenly bought 1.5 lower spacers before doing my homework. Luckily I never installed.

I'm debating on just the shocks to level, or the RC coil kit. But then should I do the rear as well to ditch the Ranchos all together.

I just want level to even out and run some bigger tires.

A lot of people knock the stock Rancho's but for an OEM shock they are fine.  Of course they aren't going to perform like Kings, Icons, or whatever, but they for damn sure perform better than most every other FACTORY shock on a 1500 series truck.  Again, that shock isn't very good for an aftermarket shock, but its perfectly fine for a stock shock utilized in typical truck usage scenarios.  If you are comfortable with the current handling characteristics of your truck, then there is no reason to swap them out.

    • There was talk over the last couple of years that the contract to build these trucks between GM and International would not be renewed.  International moved production of all their other trucks besides the companion CV model out of the Springfield plant some time ago when they opened their San Antonio plant.  That left Springfield only building the Silverado Medium Duty, International CV Series, and some Express/Savanna long wheelbase cutaways.  International also put the plant up for sale some time ago.  This all answered my earlier question as to why GM and International did nothing with these trucks since they were introduced, as they had basically become a market 'placeholder' with a finite life.    The Silverado Medium Duty/International CV trucks were interesting combination of a GM powertrain, electrical system, and K2XX Silverado cab with an International chassis that was supposedly designed for a step-van type vehicle they never produced.  They were manufactured in International's Springfield plant along with the IH MV series initially.  When first introduced, there was much talk that the Silverado Medium Duty/CV would eventually get a gasoline engine option along with other upgrades and GM and IH would work on a class 6/7 joint venture truck.  This was before VW bought Navistar out, after that happened no more was said.  Draw your own conclusions...   About the time talk started that the GM/IH joint venture was not going to be renewed, rumors started that GM would develop a new line of medium duty trucks themselves.  The story is the new trucks will be part of the next generation HD's due in 2028, and will still feature a 'straight rail' chassis design that the current medium duty has.  GM views this as a desirable feature that differentiates their truck from the competition.  A gasoline engine option is also expected.  As the current Silverado Medium Duty remains in production until September 2026 and there is still a lot of inventory available do not expect any official word for some time.   I believe GM remains committed to their successful partnership with Isuzu, and all the LCF models will still be available from Chevy Commercial dealers.  Isuzu is on the cusp of opening a new large plant in South Carolina and there is also speculation that this may result in new product for both Isuzu and Chevy Commercial dealers.
    • drive the truck back to the dealer and complain that the button works.

    • I have a 2026 2500 HD Ultimate. My phone app says there’s a software update available. It’s something about improved battery management and something to do with the running boards. I follow the instructions for the update but the “Check for Updates” option is greyed out in my settings menu. Has anyone else seen this? How did you resolve it? The help message just says “see your dealer” if the download doesn’t work. I’m just trying to save a trip.
    • Fuel mileage?  That's all how you use your right foot.  Exhaust will give you sound.   Stock exhaust 5.3 is 2.75" diameter piping.     If the truck is nice and worth putting some $$ into it, I'd go for a Corsa catback.  I had one on my 2019 old body 5.3 and it was just perfect.  Zero drone, just driving around and cruising on the highway you'd think it was stock, but when you opened it up it was like a Camaro with the factory dual mode.  Corsa bumps their catback to 3in diameter.
